Dyno Before and After Details for CHIPPED 335 w/ & w/out K&N!
Hey guys... I spoke about some of these details in the other threads... but just to give it it's own home... here is the best pull of my 2008 e90 335i Steptronic.
The Blue Graph's Dyno Run is SSTT & K&N (600 miles on it) (96 or 97 octane mix) The Red Graph's Dyno Run is SSTT & OEM (600 miles on it) (96 or 97 octane mix) When I tested this before the car was Stock... and the difference was less than 1 or 2 HP & TQ... but I left the K&N in... because even + 1 or 2.. .it wasn't ever minus 1 or 2! Up until 5,500... you can see both filters perform about the same... but up above 5,500... you can see the freeer flowing K&N starts to make some distance between itself and the OEM Filter. I do the testing where I do the 'supposed' freeer flowing item first... this way... you don't gain an artificial increase by 'tricking' the ecu into a leaner condition. IMO... whether you buy K&N, BMC, ITG... etc... it's all money well spent. Once you up the boost... you'll get more gain for your dollar. If you don't up the boost... they still won't hurt! Peace, Dave

It is a good mod only if you have a chipped car.
