Service Manual, Removing front bumper

Hi i just had a piece of road debris break the lower left grille on my 435i msport bumper. I understand the part is cheap but you need to pull the bumper to replace the part. I have access to everything i should need including a lift but i do not currently own a service manual as i have for previous cars. I am unable to find anything, this is my first BMW, i realize the car is new, is that the only reason i cannot find anything or is that typical for all bmw models? I would prefer a cd but would buy a book.

as a side note does anyone have instructions for the front bumper replacement in the absence of a complete service manual?

Search around for Bentley's book. Might have to go to a European website to order. BMW has never sold or supported manuals, although you can subscribe to their TIS - for $thou$and$.

It's just a couple of screws really. You're correct as to why a service manual isn't available. Have you tried YouTube?

No need for expensive manual, unless you want detailed step-by-step instructions. REALOEM is your best friend. Here's a link to your F32: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...76&hg=51&fg=15

You'll get the idea after reviewing the drawings. I did a full swap of the front bumper on my F30 without any manual.

Tried asking your dealer? Mine is quite happy to print out information for me on how to take bits apart if I ask nicely.

According to Bentley's website they dont have anything for the 4 Series yet. Actually nothing newer than 2010- at least as far as my 2013 F30 335i. I used them for my 95 M3, 99 540 and my 08 335, but looks like there's as increasing lag in getting newer model manuals out.

Isnt it possible to remove that grill by only removing the covers thats sit underneath and not having to remove the whole bumper?

i am not sure, i will definitely check , i was told by another user bumper removal was required. short of trying it i would need a manual to know ahead of time =)
the dealer told them removal was required but on my infiniti i had a similar issue and the official process for changing the fog light housing was to remove the front bumper, in reality i just loosened the splash shield. "Bending the splash shield while working" is rarely an official step from the dealer =)

Right, but I'm sure lots of techs do it when applicable to save time and make more $$$.

for the record the front bumper did have to come off. it really wasnt that bad. there is an electrical and fluid connection on the left side other than that its just a few screws ~16. There just isnt enough room to get the grille piece in and out with the bumper on the car. also the clips to remove or install the grille were somewhat a pain, even with the bumper on my lap so i dont see anyone doing this with the bumper still on the car.

Are you talking about those grills? Bumper removal is definitely not required.
