I'm all for joshing around here and there, but these threads are just becoming absolutely stupid- half of them aren't even funny.

Upgrading this archaic forum board software would be a nice start, then start banning the IPs of these clowns, instead of just usernames, which can be recreated over and over again.

So what the hell is it about this time of year that brings the idiots to E90post forum in droves? Is it a few butt hurt banned members or what?

Go troll reddit or something, you damn kids!

The complexity of this site design (multiple websites single forum) makes it unlikely they will upgrade vB anytime soon.

LOL! Sad but true... The forum isn't what it used to be even back in '09 when I joined.

Thank you. And I second this motion. I'm sure a few of us regulars could put a small list together!

I agree 100% with an IP based ban like most forums utilize.

I don't think banning new members who make newbie mistakes is a good resolution. That will stop the community from growing. Maybe we shouldn't allow new members post new threads until they pass certain certification such as meeting certain post count (20 posts ?) and make them read and certify that they understand the forums rules. In addition, maybe we can have more active moderators in each sub forum.

It's not the newbie questions, it's the brazen flat out stupidity we are seeing. We all know what I mean.

It's the "How do I make my car fast?", or "Where do I buy parts?" that should be deleted, and that member warned, and explained how to use the search bar, or read through the forum before posting.

Vendors pay A LOT of money to be on this forum, and it's annoying to see the money they pay go towards server space, etc. just be chewed up by stupid, pointless trolling threads. This is also one of the only forums I think i've ever come across where there's no way for a member to become a paying member, which would lower costs for vendors on here, maybe open up a members only section, and also allow moderators to respond to reports made by people who have a good reputation on the site by being a paid member, which no troll is going to do. Anyone else have some opinions, or ideas on that?

There should be a way that certain members can mark a thread as spam and will hide the thread, but then those same members will gain the ability and starting marking all the threads.

I have to agree with the OP. I don't think any of us take issue with newcomers posting questions about their cars, it's more of the juvenile threads which may be more appropriate in the off topic subsection.

The easiest way to stop these threads is either no reply or to post the thread link of " how to make their car fast" ..."best tune"..."best intercooler".
I do notice that there are 20 replies to search but no one saying "how to search efficiently" or to follow long time members build threads. Or even helping the vendors by just saying "talk to xxxxx at xxxxxx"

I can't believe that thread has polluted the whole community and is leading to the declining morale of this forum.....truly sad

I agree 100%. Can we make a section for useless threads... I swear every time I go search for some technical information sometimes or something along those lines there is only a handful of replies and it either answers the question or goes cold turkey. But then we get 5,6,7 pages of replies whenever we see threads like that are so easily searchable or 10 titles with the same topic or "Big wing, haterzz don't care, cambergang" or if you see some guy post about a mustang or american muscle car getting beat vice versa you'd think bimmerpost as we know it might come to an end

I've been posting on the "are you embarrassed" thread. You should see some of the comments...ignorance at its finest. I've only been on this forum for about a year and noticed nothing too bad up until like a month ago. It seems to have started with that Pablo Picasso kid...or Ricardo Picasso...or Pedro something, I can't remember his name.

Are there even moderators on this forum.....I have been on here for almost a year and have not encountered one.....other forums usually have them reading and policing as well being known under their username each time they post :

Dumb threads get the most traffic. And dumb threads increase in direct proportion to the declining price of our cars.

Personally I think it's a mistake to try and control it. I've seen other BMW sites that have a heavy-handed moderator approach, and they are ghost towns.

Embrace the chaos There's still plenty of really good stuff here, and the good guys far outnumber the idiots.

Wait...were you talking about me? lol
