Battery replacement question
Hello Everyone,
My battery is currently dying on my 2012 335is. I do not want to go through the dealership under warranty, and I would rather do it myself. I changed the battery on my previous e90 several years back, and it was a breeze. My question is this, does anyone know what replacement battery would be best? Here are my specs PN: 61217604820 Amps: 750 AH: 90 Volts: 12 Thanks! |

Check your local dealership? I went there, told them my specs and they ordered me one. Got it within 4 days and put it in myself

Oem battery would be your best option, plus the battery needs to be registered, if the battery is still covered under warranty I would definitely take advantage of it. I replaced the battery in my 2006 myself and then took it to the dealer to get it registered. Another thing is are you sure the battery is dying, have you tried putting it on a charger to make sure it is fully charged, also have the battery tested. If you only make short trips all the time it may not be enough to get the battery charged up all the way.

I have never had a BMW battery fail on me, but at the same time it is always on battery tender if it is going to sit for more than 2 weeks.

Registering it is what allows it to charge properly since the car charges new batteries differently than old batteries. It's not to register the warranty. If you don't it will not work as well as it should, or last as long as it should. As others mentioned - 2yrs is very early for your battery to fail. Are you sure there is not something wrong causing your battery to drain? |
