He's a psychic......... plus he sold Xcellere the car.

Congratulations Xcellere! Nice to know now that the days ticking down mean something for you! It won't be long now!

Does this signify that they are "ahead" of production schedule? When was your anticipated start date again Xcell? Next Epacy, then mine??? (fingers crossed)

None of your business, really. Released pricing or not.

Not trying to be a dick...I know your point; (a valid one) it's ridiculous of BMW to be this close to delivery w/o pricing

The most recent Road and Track is estimating base at $65,000!!! They are suggesting that you look at a 135i as an alternative if you have sticker shock. So, maybe my dealer won't be far off for my car to cost around $75,000 plus fees???

Only time will tell...... or several months! My dealer said that on the 335s they didn't know the price until the cars arrived with the sticker in the window!

I'm guessing the M3 will get the same treatment?

This is more covert than a CIA mission.

I read R&T last night. There's a thread here that critiques their crude median point b/w a z4M and the M5 - I agree. NO WAY this car sells as high as $75k.
That's 911 territory.

I'm starting to lean at ~ $60k + options. Stiff enough given that you need to add in so much to spec it (leather, 19" etc).

I was meaning to ask you about that. I will definately take one.
I'll pick up the M3 MSRP while I am there as well.

I totally missed this thread a few days ago! I wish I had looked here instead of the General forum. You guys have no idea how excited I am.

Thanks OC. I think Neil originally told me third week of January, so it looks like they are ahead of schedule.

BTW, thanks for all the help Tim.

The move to 150 status is usually about 2 weeks before production. That's when they order all the parts in your car will need. That means your actual production is still probably about the 3rd week or so. Looks like I'm a few weeks behind you. Exciting!

Hey, I'm a major now!

Hey, I'm a major now!
I think you have 150 mixed up with 112, which is where they order the parts. 150 is the actual start of the production process. I went through the same thing a few months ago with my 08 M5.

Well, I didn't think so. At 112 you can still make changes, which you can't do after they order parts, right? When did you go 112?

This is what my sales guy, who has many years experience, said this morning,
"When a car is ramping up to production, one has to loosely interpret the "Req. Production". It appears that your car is due to be produced by the second week of February. If that is the case, typical production BMW's would flip to a 150 status by the end of this month. The problem here is that BMW may have sourced subcontractors for specific components of this car which may require a lock up of the modification process earlier than normal. This early lock up is typical of new cars due to the variables that may affect the M3. In short, although I would expect the 150 status to occur a couple of weeks before the scheduled production, I don't feel comfortable committing to that schedule on the M3 yet."

I'm confused, now, I guess.

Once you hit 112, you're no longer allowed to make changes. 112 is the first step of the "production" schedule, which is where they gather the parts. 150 means they've got the parts and are ready to put it together.

I went 112 about a week ago.

For what its worth, my sales manager said that I can still make changes at my current 112 status, but once it hits 150, youre then locked.
