Is Navdy the future?
If you get this: http://www.navdy.com/
You probably won't need to spend £2000 on the Pro Nav!

It does seem a bit Halfordsy. The factory HUD is so much nicer and doesn't require you to look through an extra bit of plastic. I think that there are apps available with an inverted image so you can rest a phone on the dash and use the windscreen, which seems preferable to me.

Does seem a bit too much aftermarket.
However not a bad idea, apart from it showing things like Facebook updates. Txts are bad enough, if it's important then ring the damn phone. There is a thing with information overload - it does distract your brain from the task it should be doing - that is driving and watching traffic. Not latest update from Shaz and her latest Christmas bargin etc. It will be people getting bloody Twitter updates next! |

Great gadget if you don't already have HUD. A bit too much sitting on top of the dash though. How will it fit on your new Golf?
If Navdy added radar and/or a dash cam inside the same (or smaller) footprint, now that would be cool. Another market for this product is for passenger seat drivers of the world. My wife, for example, likes to know where we are going but she can't see my HUD display. This Navdy might do the trick for that purpose. Now, if only I could program the speed limit display for the passenger seat Navdy to read slower that the car is actually going! Navdy, are you listening? |

That looks really good actually! If it works as well as it appears to, and if it will will display ios tomtom then i could well be tempted by it!
I can't work out why the guy in the video is driving a Ford Fusion/Mondeo with a Bentley badge on the bonnet though!? |

$299 according to website. But as it comes from the USA one would then have to add Import Duty and VAT.

It's pretty innovative but looks like a PS3 slim on your dash, not for me. Is it not Also kinda like leaving a £300 pair of Oakleys on your dashboard? Crime magnet....or do you take it on/off each journey, surely that's a PITA?

Hmmm, be interesting to see what the UK road monitoring pixies have to say and whether it would be classed as too much of a distraction. Bet it doesn't have road use approval over here...
And it will be a PITA to remove it every time you leave the car. |

The biggest problems are these:
- if it runs on batteries, you'll forget to charge it... if it runs on power, you get an ugly cable running over the dash - these things are going to get stolen like a motherf*cker if you leave them in your car. - sporty driving...? you'll be picking it up all over the car... |

No - I'm very pleased with ProNav overall, thank you. It is expensive but I don't regret buying it.
As said previously - this Navdy looks what it is: an aftermarket afterthought.
