Holy crap, so I thought I was being pedantic when I mocked calling the M-performance diffuser a 'diffuser' since it doesn't diffuse anything.

This thing is in no way a diffuser. Bumper trim cover is probably an appropriate term here.

Not understanding the complaint here, in BMW's own terms it's called a "diffuser". This is basically a carbon fiber replica of the OEM piece for a good price, what's the problem?

I think the thing BMW calls a diffuser at least has tiny little vanes on it like an actual diffuser might (so at least it LOOKS) like a diffuser. I haven't seen them refer to the plain trim piece on the car as a diffuser, but even if they did, it wouldn't mean it IS a diffuser. i have to assume BMW calling that piece a diffuser is a lot like calling a paint color 'Fire' Orange. It's not really fire, but it reminds them of a fire they once saw.

Alas, it's just me complaining. The battle is long lost (see: 'splitters' for more details).

LOL. yes exactly. BMW has always called these pieces diffusers and some actually did add down force according to the car (CSL Diffuser for E46 M3). We are taking a very subtle (less is more) approach to the modifications we are creating for the F8X Chassis.

Trust me, I agree with you on the front that none of BMW's "diffusers" actually create any downforce or reduce drag, but alas that is the term that has been coined. Just roll with it

This diffuser is the same exact size as the OEM, so i do not see how it would not work.

I don't think it was the size of the OEM M performance diffuser that caused problems with it.

We are currently looking into this. We are hearing the problem is the CF blocks the sensor from transmitting. We will report back once we know forsure. If anyone in the SoCal area would like to help us in exchange for a killer deal on one let us know.
