Ski hole in the rear seat

Do all F30's have a passage behind the armrest of the rear seat for skis to go through? I remember doing this on my e46 by knocking down a metal plate. It came standard to all e46 sedans as far as I know. Is it standard for F30s?

Thanks,

IIRC the 2012 models did not have this standard, but after that all of the cars did.

The way you did it isn't really adding a ski cutout.

Ski passages are an option on anything with cold weather package on the F30, as they were on the E9x and E46. (The bag that was free on the E46 costs extra on E9x, F3x).

I believe that some F3x have a 3-piece folding seat, where the center folds separately.

If you have the fold down rear seat, the center portion is your pass through. There is no bag or anything to keep your ski's from cutting or dripping on your interior. You will need to use a separate bag for your sticks.

I don't believe that I have the folding seats and do not have the cold weather package. So can the plastic behind the armrest come off so I Can knock off a ski passage?

Folding seats aren't standard? Are they only part of the CWP?

I have folding seats on mine, no CWP. For those who don't know, check the inside of your trunk, on the top there should be a handle on both sides if you have folding seats

I have a 2013 with no cold weather package and I have the folding rear seats.

The pass through can be opened from the inside by pulling down the arm rest and then you should see a lever to pull that open.

Do you have a 2012 model? - that should answer your question.

I have a May 2013 model. When I put the armrest down, I see a plastic cover, but do not see a lever. Did not want to bother and try to take the carpeting in the trunk. Any idea where should the level be if the armrest is folded down?

Thanks,

Fold down centre arm rest

I have the 2013 328xi. The centre fold down works by pulling down from the top head rest, not down lower where you see the cup holders. One more issue - you will want to get into the trunk from the fold down back seats if the battery dies or is disconnected. The other choice is to pop the hood and use external power to pop the trunk. We do not have a keyhole for the trunk.

On the 320, I paid for the CWP & folding seats as separate options.

Thanks,
Sorry I was thinking of my old car.

The lever is the black plastic piece underneath the center head rest. The arm rest does not need to be pulled down.

If you look in the trunk there should be obvious split lines between the 40/20/40 sections of the rear seat.
