Suspension install DIY

I was wondering if there was a diy for the suspension on the M4. Got my V3s and wanna install them soon. I lowered my E92 so its probably not that different, I still like something to rely on for reference. thanks for any help.

I'm always down for some help. Probably won't put them on until January sometime maybe feb. if I can hold out that long. I'm really looking forward to a nice drop on this car.

The front is tedious to do because of the strut bar and whatever else blocks the top hat bolts on top ---- plastic, trim, rubber, etc. The rear is too easy and could be done in 15 minutes if someone were in a hurry.

SIDE NOTE FOR KW V3, maybe for KW HAS too, as it looks similar: For the front the lowest you can probably go on stock wheels without spacers or aftermarket wheels is ---- perch adjusted showing ~1.25" of thread. Any lower and the spring will rub on the inner tire. At this adjustment it will put the fender at the tire or maybe even a tiny little tuck of the tire.

Did you have to remove the whole trunk interior kit for the rear? I've never ran spacers before, what size would I need to run if I choose the route? Thanks

It looks like the rear is all done from under the rear wheel well now. No more removing interior parts.

Nope, and that's one reason someone could do the rear in 15 minutes. Bolts are accessible from outside the car. Once you take the wheel off you'll see 3 bolt up top. I'm guessing 15mm would be perfect. Look for the thread with a blue M4 lowered pretty low, I think he is on 15mm.

Rear doesn't require trunk access, I have 15mm spacers all around with KW HAS at lowest setting.

I checked out your build thread I was wondering if you had any bright light photos of looking down the side of the car. Kinda wanna see how far 15mm will push the wheel out. Thanks

I saw that today when I was getting a screw taken out of the rear tire... Thats awesome, so easy. Thats good cuz I hate taking the interior outta the the trunk, never goes back perfectly.

It's bad if the KW V3 compression adjustment is still on the top of the coil though which means you would need to remove the shock in order to adjust that. You have any pic's of the rear shocks on the KW's?

Here is the bottom and it may be the bump adjustment. I'd have to remove the wheel to check the top.

Yeah, that is the bump adjustment. Let's hope the rebound adjustment is accessible without removing the shock.

I think it is accessible just like the bottom.

Awesome! Looks like the rebound valves are on the top sides which means you don't ever have to drop the shocks to adjust those and can be done by jacking up the car.

Correct, should be somewhat simple. A few guys on here said they were happy with the set-up right outta the box.

We need to meet up again after you get them installed. The passive suspension is so harsh in the city perhaps those coils are the answer lol.

Where should I get my spacers from? I'm gonna get them beforehand just in case I need them. Thinking of going just 10mm. Will that be enough to clear the coil over? does this only come into effect at the lowest setting? I probably won't ever be at the lowest setting

Theres no way the KW will be rougher than our passive, my car already bounces around like it would with an extreme drop. Mines pretty rough also
