Insurance cost for M3/4 in Canada
I am just curious as to what everyone is paying for insurance on their M3/4. I understand this varies depending on where you live, age etc. but just wanted to get an idea.
Calgary, $169.xx a month, 32 In fact my X3 cost a bit more. |

My incremental wasn't too bad coming from my 335 - another $305 a year plus an additional $80 for a new rider providing full replacement coverage if my car is totaled within the first two years of ownership. I'm paying approximately $154 a month for a fully featured policy.
You're right that there are a lot of variables here to get an actual comparison point. Perhaps a better question to ask is the incremental cost and previously insured vehicle? |

Below is the quote I got a couple of weeks ago for ICBC insurance for my M3 here in Vancouver. I have the maximum discount available in BC.

Instead it about $100 per month? That seems pretty good. Also, ICBC = no negotitiation.

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...light=hacxyzzy Replacing the windshield cost $2K (I have the HUD too) but was completely covered with all paper work and payment resolved between my dealership and insurance company. Replacing the windshield took a day. Both home and auto are insured through Aviva. |

They insure glass etc but for me it wasn't really worth it (and the fact I purchase the protection program from BMW Gallery which covers glass, rock chip repairs and some scratches etc) It was based on me paying the deductible and then my insurance goes up. |

I pay about $300/month with a $5500 deductible which is a 5% of the value of the car including taxes. My policy is quite high due to business use and 4000 kms a month use plus the fact I get surcharged for 2 speeding tickets in the last 3 years. The carrier is Northridge and I will shop for different coverage once the tickets come off my record.
My wife pays about $125/month for her X3 2.8d and she commutes about 50 kms/day. |

I stated and showed this was an ICBC quote with the maximum discount (-20 / -43%). Your comments don't make any sense here. Thanks for dropping by though eh... |

But yes it is originally ~$5500 / year but because I just hit the 4 year mark with no accidents/claims so I get an additional 20% off which comes $4500.

$1300/year, in Toronto.
Agent told me it's not the value of the car that always determines premiums, but rather the risk profile. For example, Hondas could be more $$ in premiums since they may get targeted more often by thieves for parts, etc. M |

I pay $120 a month tax in for my M4 for a comprehensive coverage with $500/$250/$0 deductibles and a new vehicle replacement cost warranty through Belair Direct. My wife's S4 is on the same policy for $82/month. Naturally, we benefit from rebates for having both cars and our home with the same insurer.
