Engine oil question: (HELP)

Hi Brothers,

Today I went to a garage to change engine oil after 2,000km. And the garage has filled 6L engine oil and I drove away without problem, after I drove for around 20km, the garage boss called me and told me that my car should need 7L rather than 6 and a warning light should come up and tell me to fill that 1L next Monday.

After that, the engine oil warning light came up and show "+1L", I checked the manual and I found that the wording is I can fill up not more than 1L engine oil in my next opportunities.

My question is, can I still drive the car tomorrow and go add the oil up on Monday? Or if it's better not to drive? Please advice.

Thanks.

You are probably ok for a day if it's only 1qt down. Try not to take corners too hard, the lower the level the higher the chance of the oil pump running dry while oil drifts side to side in turns.

You should be fine. Just top it off as soon as you can to avoid further problems.

its alright.. it sounds like it was just an oil top off... I had mine recently and I added two bottles and it was filled.

Thanks all and finally, I have driven my car for approx 30km and seems no big problem and just keep warning and the "!" is still yellow and didn't change to red and I will add the oil up and hopes nothing has been gone wrong.

Anyway, thanks and can anybody also tell me how much engine oil is needed for N54 engine as I can't find any answer from the user manual.
