Sport Package Top Speed
Not that i would be speedig this fast but in Canada the Top Speed limiter in the 335i is 210kph or about 130Mph. With the sport package does the top speed limiter become 155mph? i know this car is much more capable than 130mph so it seems like a waste if it is capped. This is for Canadian spec 335i's not too sure about U.S. cars.

Canadian spec. E9x's with sport package are electronically limited to 250 km/h.
Not that I've tried... rear view mirrors here tend to have more use for dangling objects than for being aware of those behind trying to pass... |

Yea, even though you crazy canucks have some wacky physics above the border, I'm pretty sure the Sport is 155 mph. The non-sports here are 130 and the sports are 155, so I imagine it'd be the same.

Its the same in Canada and US - higher speed limit for sport suspension. This is because the tires in sport suspension cars are rated at a higher speed.

As far as E92 models go, in Britain at least, all the six cylinder petrol cars are limited to 155mph but can do more without the limiter. The 330d and 335d are the same with only the 325d being capable of "only" 148mph. The 320i and 320d have a top speed of 144mph so they too, are not limited.
In Britain the performance of SE and m Sport models are the same, only the M Sport has stiffer suspension, 18" wheels as standard and charge you thousands extra for some plastic add-on bits. Also, up till recently anyway, the newer BMW diesel engines were not available in the States due to insufficient availability of low or no sulphur diesel. Has that changed yet? |

actually its not that hard to believe why would they limit the car for only 5 mph more... and you can some what compare it to the cayman s and that has a top speed of 171

175mph you say?
Sure, totally believable. I had a GTI 1.8 turbo that had APR software, an intake and exhaust, and it would do 150mph. It was only rated at 230 bhp, and the gears are what limited it to 150. I realize it takes big increases in power to gain extra mph at these speeds, but if you are talking software to increase boost and remove the limiter, as long as the gearing of the 335 will allow it, 175mph shouldn't be too hard.
