Front Passenger Parking Sensor Issue

Today, my 2014 328d xdrive began acting as though I was too close to something as the sensor was in the red and the audible alert was going off non-stop. This morning it operated normally it wasn't until this afternoon (3:30p EST) that it began acting this way sitting in the work parking lot.

It has been lightly snowing/sleeting all day and so when I noticed it wasn't working properly I parked again, jumped out and went to the sensor and brushed it off(wasn't anything on it) in an attempt to "fix" it but no luck.

Checked again when I got home to see if it still was doing it and sure enough it was. I've already called my local dealership(Tomkinson BMW) and scheduled and appointment for next Friday since I need a loaner but has anyone here experienced this kind of issue or have any suggestions regarding the sensor?

I had the same issue last week. It wound up being ice on/around one of the sensors. I left it in the garage overnight and the next day it was fine.

Do you have a laser jammer? My 7's jammers drive the front sensors crazy. They're definitely not getting transferred over to the new car.

Not even sure what a jammer is; so I'll go with no, haha. My 3 is all stock as I'm leasing it.

Hey there OP, small world. I am in Warsaw, IN and had the exact same issue last night after my car was outside during the day. It was my front, mid-right sensor I believe.

Issue seemed intermittent. Hoping it goes away today so that I don't have to take it to Tomkinson for service.

Please keep us updated on your progress, diagnosis and solution.

Well today it seems to be working correctly. So I'm not sure if something got in between the cover of the sensor or what. I'm going to keep my appointment with Tomkinson just incase it happens again and won't hurt to have it looked at either way.

Well I took my 328d in this morning and they were not able to find any faults with the parking sensor. The rear one had done the same thing and they checked them all out. So must've been a glitch but they did all the routine maintenance items as well.

Gave me the opportunity to drive a 2014 328i GT Xdrive for a little bit. Was interesting trying to get used to being in a vehicle that had different options than my own.
