F30 parking sensors refresh rate?
Hello People,
I have a 2013 316i F30 and I'm generally very happy with it. I have one problem though, the rear (and front) parking sensors are seriously lame. While it's nice to have a visual display their refresh rate (the rate at which it beeps/updates) is very low - compared to many other cars. This means its easy to slam into things while reversing (happened a few time by now) be second it looks like you have lots of space, and you reverse (slowly) but it takes a second for it to update at which point you're right up against the obstacle - or in it... I wonder if this is a common problem? Do your cars behave the same? and is there a way to make the updates faster? Thanks! |

I haven't had a problem with the parking sensors. Just make sure they are cleaned properly (snow/rain/dirt/etc.). Most importantly, don't rely on this technology alone - complement these technology features with your eyes & ears.

No problems for me. If anything I find them overly sensitive as I park in a parking garage (always as close as possible to a wall) and they often go to the full beep tone even though I still have room.

I don't trust the sensors as there is a fair amount of lag in front and rear sensors. I would estimate a one or two second lag. |
