Hehe you won't be the last person to go crazy trying to get this to work!
What is the actual error? Is it IFH-0018? Is COM1 actually free in device manager? Also, make sure you only have INPA open and no other standard tools program. EDIABAS can only use 1 at a time. |

it shows battery ON and ignition ON if the USB K DCAN cable is in.
the OBD is not connected to the car, only to the computer.. so.. something is.. wrong. |

SOLVED:
i had to modify the EDIBAS.INI as follows RemoteHost ; Description : server address/name ; Default = - ; RemoteHost = Desmo16 Desmo16 being my computer's name (note that this must be maximum 8 chars) and Port ; Description : IP communication port ; Value : 1000 < port < 30000 ; ; Spezialfall OP(P)S / ICOM: ; Value : 6801 ;OBD-Treiber (CAN) ; Value : 6802 ;Most-Treiber ; ; Default = - ; Port = 6801 Be sure port is 6801 as mine was 3000. i also ran the DCAN utility found here: http://osefactory.com/tools/k+dcan/ and set it on 500 kbit DCAN it worked like a charm after i made these mods. |

i can see you have the original setup of ediabas.ini.
damn weird. I did two things, so i don;t know which one did the trick. 1. i modified the ediabas.ini 2. i ran the DCAN utility and set it up for 500 kbs by a simple logic, by you having the original ediabas.ini not modified, I could tell that the DCAN utility made the things working. Still, it's good that i made it somehow )) p.s.s now i'm struggling to make the engine checks display in english. all other INPA results are in english, but the engine.. is still DE. |

Worked
Hey Sinner, you are right .
I had the same problem error 100, Initialization error. I kept my ediabas file as is and run the DCAN utility found here: http://osefactory.com/tools/k+dcan/ and set it to 500kbit/s And bang ! worked. there is a little trick though i notices. you have to set the 500kbit /s rate within 30 secs of connecting it to your laptop and cars obd2 . during the time when the red light on the cable is lit otherwise it will error timeout or echo Hope this helps everyone |
