2014 335i w M performance package

My dad had a 2014 335i w the M package. It's all white with the m stripes down the strong bumper and rear bumper. I did a little research as I have an e90 335i and don't know anything about f30s. But it looks like the M package comes w 320hp vs the stock 300? I was telling my dad about my Cobb V3 Accessport and he liked the idea of the not invasive install and gains . But I see cobb doesn't have a tune for a f90? I do se Dinan makes a package for 2000 that claims 365 hp....but would this replace my dad's m package ? Who runs this setup as my dad is ready to get a tune but is under warranty. Thanks in advance .

The M-Sport package only comes with the standard 300hp. If you have the M Performance Power kit, which has a badge on the inlet duct and an M Performance engine cover, then it has 320 or 335hp. That package was an extra $1700 at purchase.

It will look like this; Excuse the mess. The dealer went overboard on the Armor All.

Awesome I'll let him know asap and see if he in fact does have the M peformance package or not. In regards to tuning a 2014 335i m package w the performance what options does he have that won't void the warranty ? Also if he just has the m sport package that was cosmetics only I'm guessing is there a tune out there like the cobb that can be undone easy to dealer won't know it was tuned or will the Dinan that makes 365 hp be the only tune he can get and not void the warranty ? Thanks guys!

Dinan is pretty much the only game in town if he wants to have something thats covered by a warranty. Dinan matches BMWs warranty if anything goes wrong. I've heard AC Schnitzer does the same thing in Europe, but I've never heard of them doing it in the US.

The F30s computer is heavily encrypted, so theres nothing out there for tuning through the OBD port like Cobb. Cobb has already said they won't be supporting it. I tried DiabloSport, but it doesn't look like theres enough interest to make a case with management.

The M Sport Package isn't just cosmetics only if the car is RWD. If it is then it comes with stiffer suspension. xDrive models still have the same suspension as the other F30 lines so in that instance it's merely cosmetic.

If your dad does have the M Performance Package, since it's a 2014 then his power out put would be bumped up to 335 HP (can't remember how much torque, just know the 8AT models get more torque vs. the 6MT models).

Another way to tell if you have the M Performance Package or not is to, through the iDrive settings, pull up the Sport Displays. It's these gimmicky gauges that tell you how much HP and torque you're making at any given time. If the digital gauges maxes out at 400 HP and 400 ft-lb, then he has the M Performance Package, if they max out at 300 HP and 300 ft-lb then he doesn't have it.

Msport alone does not give you more HP
requires PPk

Msport gives you suspension. Body kit steering wheel
Mpedal foot spot
Staggered tires

No hp boost
Msport can lead to optional Msport brakes

PPk is required for that

To answer the question, yes, it would replace an M performance power kit if you got the Dinan. They now have a version that works along with the PPK.

Staggered tires are optional. M-Sport brakes are now available even without the M-Sport package. PPK isn't required for anything.
