[Volatile_]

Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster here with a relatively pressing question.

My battery died on me last night after one of my passenger's neglected to completely shut my passenger side door of my E92. After jumping it this morning, the car started just fine but is showing a red steering wheel with a lock over it. I have a two hour commute and the car ran fine the entire drive, save for the persistant light.

When I got to work I googled this error and it looks like it's a steering lock that could potentially leave the car immobile. Some info I've found says that people got the car to drive, others not. I searched here and didn't find anything quite like my situation, so I figured I'd ask.


I've got a call into the dealer but I've heard they love to replace steering racks. Any help is greatly appreciated!
