Did BMW send you 2 tix for the auto show?

My friend in Philly said he got one of those silver envelopes from BMW with a letter which he could take to will call, and get 2 tix for the auto show. I was wondering if they do New York, and other cities?

I got 2 today for Philly show. They say they are "NON TRANSFERABLE" so I guess I can't give them away if I don't go.

Is it possible that only people who purchased within the past year are receiving auto show passes from BMW NA? I've heard of two thus far for Philly. Is this correct for those who have responded?

Mercedes in Toronto gives them out if you know one of the managers (for the Auto Show here in the next month or two), I'm not aware of BMW doing it though. But then again us Canadians only got a little hardcover book as opposed to the cookies and discs that you guys south of the border received shortly after taking delivery.

I got two tickets from Mercedes last year, but strangely enough it was only after I bought my third Benz.

Is there a rule saying that they only send invitations to those who have purchased multiple cars?

Does this apply to most automakers?

I think it's a combination of factors...probably has nothing to do with ownership but perhaps brochure requests? The red herring is that my buddy did buy a BMW, so who knows. Would be nice if they provided tix for Javits. Freebies sometimes stink--I test drove 2 Touaregs, V6 and V8, only to be told after the drive they had no free Bourne tix. Made me realize how boring it is to drive a SUV, no matter how cool they try to make it seem.

Not sure. I never requested any brochures and, while I did not receive any passes last year, I did this year. Maybe they think I am looking again.
