New BMW owner

Just sold my '87 Porsche 944 (heartbreak) and wife and I bought a '09 328i for each other for Christmas. It only has 12k miles and is beautiful. Unfortunatly, she regards it as just another sedan like Honda, Camry, etc. She doesn't seem to get the significance of it, even though she loves how it handles and the quality of craftsmanship. Color is actually Sandalwood Beige metallic and not silver as the picture would suggest.

Congrats! I thought that color was called platinum bronze metallic. Maybe BMW changed the name
with the LCI. Enjoy it!

Congratulations on your purchase! I love the LCI changes they made, I have an '08 335i myself, and it puts a bigger smile on my face than any Honda ever could. Take your wife out for some "spirited driving" on a back road somewhere, and she'll understand. Welcome to the forum!

Excellent! That will save you from a great deal of annoyance like "she regards it as just another sedan like Honda, Camry, etc. "

This is where the "stupid" questions start . What does LCI refer to?

Upon further research, I find that you're correct in the paint ID. It is Platinum Bronze Metallic. Thanks for the correction

LCI- = Life Cycle Improvement
Basically means a mid series face lift
BMW made some cosmetic changes to bonnet, lights etc
You will see reference to pre-LCI and LCI in some of the threads in the forum

Here is a useful link to common terms etc used in the forum

Only for you:
You kept yours very clean. Mine wasn't that clean but it had a nice rare wide body kit, no rear hatch glass it has some kind of a spoiler in place.

I jumped right in there and modded the trunk. BMW's over the parts counter rubber trunk liner. It was 1/2 the price of the WeatherTech liner and fills the bill.
