New to the forum question

I'm new to the forum, and looking to purchase a 335i E90 platform car. So, I am doing some research to see what the difference/ or best E90 platform 335i (N54?) motor is for performance modifying?

How much power can they hold stock?

engine

trans (auto) and manual/clutch

Fuel system?

Thank you in advance for any help, new to all things BMW.

N54 is the engine with the most power potential. It's easy to get to 400 RWHP (or more) with a tune and a few mods. Auto trans can hold up to 500 RWHP and manual trans is good for even more with upgraded clutch. You can run up to 35% E85 with stock fuel system, or up to 60% E85 with an additional in-line LPFP.

Good luck!

Thank you for the reply, I'm excited to hear that! Am I correct in assuming all 135i/ 335i's (of any year) come with the N54 engine?

Only 335's and 135's 2007-2010 came with the N54. 2011+ came with N55's. All years 335is came with N54's.
