Quick manual trans fluid ?
'08 328i with 86k on it.
Is 6MT... I've owned the car since 39k and have never changed the trans fluid, I know, shame on me. But, are there any concerns with changing manual trans fluid like there is with automatics? How some say, if your automatic trans is shifting fine, to let it alone since some have changed their fluid and then it started to slip... Perhaps due to loosening some buildup or something inside. Do manual transmissions have these same concerns? Do I run any risk of changing my fluid? My car shifts fine without issues. I a, just looking to do some preventative maintenance. Will also be doing the rear diff fluid. Thanks.

No, the high mileage AT fluid change problems don't apply to MT. Get on and change it, and the diff...

The BMW recommended change interval for the diff and trans are 100,000 miles. I've followed BMW's schedule using OE fluids and I'm still running strong on both units at 272,000 miles. But most people change the fluids earlier than that.
