Back to the Vette

I previously had a 2008 Corvette which I thoroughly enjoyed. Most of my vehicles have been sports cars, which is why I choose a BMW when I decided to get a sedan. I absolutely love my 335i w/BMS tune, but I've now got the itch to get back in a two-seater (still have the mini-van for the family).

Purchased a 2015 Corvette Stingray Z51 which is still sitting in the dealer showroom 1,500 miles away. Should arrive next week. Anyway, this forum has been invaluable to me. From coding my car, finding the right tune, buying vendor accessories and diagnosing problems, this has absolutely been one of the greatest forums I have ever been on. I'm certain another BMW lies in my future, so I probably won't be gone for long. Thanks to all.

Congrats, nice pickup. I currently have too much hair left to own a Vette, but in due time I will be below the maximum amount of hairs allowed to be able to buy one (just bustin' your balls).

Chevy has done a fantastic job with that car, I'd take a bright blue one.

Congrats...I sold my C5 a few years back to subsidize my wife (probably should've kept the Vette ;-) the haters can always say what they will, there's a certain attention and respect that the Corvette get's that I've never experienced with any other kind of car.

I have my savings account lovingly nicknamed "Corvette Fund" until the next point where I can get myself to buy another.

When I move down to FL I'm gonna pick up a Z06. Can't have a rear drive supercar as my only car up in NY.

As you should, given you're only 18 years old since you drive a Mustang. I'd be a little worried if you were losing hair that early.

Congrats. Nice car.

I'm biding my time for the 2009+ c6 z06 to depreciate further. Can't wait to get my hands on one.

Nice C7. Love the Shark Grey color.
I'd love to have one, but will have to stick with the 335I x-drive as my daily driver and C5 Vert garage queen I've owned since new!

It was tough deciding between a c6 z06 with z07 package and mods or ordering an F80. Z06 are monsters on the track with some tweaks (and a lot of driver training)

Good luck with your new car.

blah, blah, Corvette blah.

In for the 335i part-out. Well, maybe just the tune.

Does this car have a lift kit installed? Shipping springs? Or just the way the wheels are turned?

Love the C7, personally not a fan of that color though (I'd want mine red or blue or white ). If my lifestyle at the moment permitted, I'd trade my F30 for one in an instant, especially given that they cost about the same (if you don't mind me asking, how much did yours cost? what options did it have).

Just the angle. Bone stock in the showroom.

The car MSRP is $70,760 but going through a dealership with supplier discount gets that down to $64K. Add taxes and fees though, and we're back at the $70K. Options are listed below.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette
- 2LT Stingray Coupe with Z51
- Carbon Flash Badge Package
- Magnetic Selective Ride Control
- Red-painted brake calipers
- 8-speed paddle shift transmission
- 19" front/20" rear, Z51 5-split spoke Black aluminum wheels
- Carbon Flash-painted rear spoiler and outside mirrors
- Performance data and video recorder (navi included)

I pretty much flip back and forth between manuals and autos, but seeing as this auto is quicker than the manual (and I loved the 8-speed in the BMW), that's what I went with. Also makes driving a bit easier in Dallas. My C6 was pretty quick (0-60 in 4.2), but this is marketed at 3.7 sec. Like BMW, the times are marketed as easily achievable, so the car is actually quicker than that. Lowest I've seen on a complete stock setup is 0-60 in 3.5 sec. The new Z06 blows that number away.
