Rear facing carseat in F36/F32?
My wife is 3 month pregnant, and my 650i lease is up. Been looking at an F32 and F36 as replacements....just didn't like how big the 650 drove. Loved my E46 M3 and E92 335i.
So I debating between the F32 and F36 35's, both with MPPK and other fun stuff. I assume the F32 won't fit a rear facing seat, but the Gran Coupe looks like it might have enough room? Also, I am 6-4 and tend to have the seat pretty much all the way back. |

You're not going to fit a rear-facing seat behind you if you're 6'4" and have your seat all the way back. Should work OK on the passenger side, but the seat will be "stuck" about mid-way back, i.e. not enough room for a passenger much taller than 5'10".
I have a front facing seat, and one rear facing, both Recaro Pro Rides in my F30. I sat in the back of an F36 last week and the rear room is virtually the same. Certainly not any bigger in an F36. Car seats get real deep when they go rear-facing. You can probably do the regular baby seat back there, but when your child is 6-12 months old, you'll go to a rear-facing seat. Congrats! |

F32 is the 2door/coupe right...
... man you are crazy, you dont want to break your back carrying you baby in and out ... that's gonna be hell, especially for some as tall as you are I have the Graco Headwise 65, and i am very happy, because it was on sale at $160. Regular price is $200. Without the sale, i would have gotten the Recaro Pro-Ride ($230 online), but i heard that thing is gigantic... My car seat fits the back of my F30, and i am already almost complaining about how it is not so practical, but the F36 with its lower roof line, it's gonna bit a pain for you. Having said that, taking your child in and out of and from the car will be relatively a small matter, and actually fun compared to everything else you have to do for the baby (nursing, chanting, wiping, cleaning, waiting, etc etc...) In short, the way i see it, whether you have a minivan or a coupe, installing your kid into the car will be a circus act no matter what, and compare to everything else, it's actually the funnest part... might as well enjoy the ride in the car you like... you might actually want to use the Infant car seat carrier first before looking at the one i suggested above... Congrats by the way, no matter how much you think you are ready for the kids, you have no idea how much they gonna test your patience... beyond your limits... but ironically patience will you get through it...

I have a F36 with a front facing car seat behind the driver's seat. I don't drive gansta style, but I cannot move the driver seat all the way back without constantly getting kicked by my kid. It was worst when the car seat was mounted rear facing because I had to move my seat forward quiet a bit for it to fit and I could not get comfy. You also have to be careful about the frameless window edge when taking the baby out so you don't poke them in the eye. If your wife is average height, I would recommend mounting the seat behind the passenger seat.

thanks for the replies so far. And yes, I should have said that I would plan to put the seat behind the passenger. Wife is 5-8 and doesn't need as much leg room as I do.

i have a baby seat in the back of my F36 GC , no problem is is just fine, do not buy the F32 if you plan to put a baby seat in the back , as it will be a nighmare to put the baby in and out of the back seat , the F36 has inuff space |

i have a front facing car seat for my insanely tall 3 yr old (and i'm 6'2) and its ok. if i was constantly taking her in my car i would definitely get something bigger. but for the occasional ride it's fine. but if your car will be the primary baby car i would definitely get something bigger

Just got an F33 convertible. I have this behind the passenger seat.
http://www.maxi-cosi.com/us-en/produ...e/pria-70.aspx Seat is set for a 5'6" ish person and it works. It makes it a lot easier to get baby in and out with the convertible though! |
