BC Racing Coilovers for F36 confirmed!

I just got confirmation from BC Racing that they make coilovers for F36 Gran Coupe. The part # is I-29 and the cost is $1090.

I have never used BC Racing coilovers (only their wheels) so I have no idea about their quality or ride or minimum drop. From reading the internet, it seems lots of people use these and are happy? You cant beat the price though but it does make me wonder how they can essentially be half the price of KW and Bilstein?

Any F36 owners on BC coilovers????

Anyway, good news for F36 owners!!

They're made in Taiwan.

Are they bad coilovers? No. Are they great? No.

They're a budget coilover, that comes with a lot of features. They go low, and they ride alright. Will they last as long as a set of KWs? Probably not. Will they ride as nice as a set of KWs? Not at all.

You get what you pay for!

The shocks are ok. Good cheap daily setup.

Being made in China does not automatically equal to low quality. Also China does not equal Taiwan for many people either.

Get your facts straight!

From what I learned with coil overs is to pay a little extra saves you a lot in the long run. I am very happy with my KW v2s. By this time my H&R coils were making noises and the KWs are quiet as a mouse. If you do get the BC, everyone that had them says to spend the money and get the swift springs.

These are some very high quality made coilovers, but a few complained about the lack of lowness the lowering may achieve on E9X. It should go low enough for most people that don't want a dumped look.

KWs are nice but I wouldn't say they are better quality than the BCs.

For those of you who say either BC is bad or good quality can you please let me know why you feel that way? What experience made you have that opinion? I don't know anything about these coil overs so I appreciate the feedback so I can make an informed decision.

I just bought a set for my F30 328i and should receive them in a week. Hopefully I'll get them on soon and can post the results.

I also did a lot of research on these. They come with a lot of great features (like camber plates). There are a couple of guys who race and drift with this setup and put them through a lot of abuse, and they only say good things (after 20kmiles), with no leaks or issues and very comfortable rides (yes that's personal and objective). Those guys have had many other setups including the others mentioned, so I think they have credibility.

I'm having a go with the standard springs. I can always replace them with swift springs or other spring rates later.

Oh and 30 years ago Japanese stuff was given the : but now that's quite the opposite. Chinese and Taiwanese (especially) stuff isn't always crap (yes there is a lot of it), but in some cases (especially with US and Euro input - PSI were involved with some kits) the parts can be right up there.

I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on them once you have installed. Where did you purchase from? Aside from your thought on quality and ride, I am curious about how to change the ride height. I know BC has separated spring preload and ride height adjustment but I cant seem to understand how they do it. Can I adjust ride with the shocks on the car?

I have seen a lot of posts that say the Swift springs are a must do upgrade. I wonder why?

I agree, overseas parts dont always mean bad quality anymore. Frankly, there is bad quality stuff made in the US!

Thank you! Can you please send me the link where you got this information?

From a quick google search it looks like this is meant for the F33. I have heard the F33 and F36 are similar. I will see what kind of confirmation I can get from KW.

Thank you! My only issue with this is the minimum drop which is 40mm. I only want to drop it 25mm as this is my daily driver and also given my experience with KW, the minimum drop is more than what they advertise.

Well as expected KW US could not confirm that this would fit on the F36. I dont blame them as its not yet an officially released product. What to do??? Guess I will keep waiting. I would love for Bilstein to release their Comfort series for this as the drop is not as aggressive. Holding my breath.
