May be joining the M235xi Club Tomorrow! (joined & pix)
Put a down payment tonight on 2015 M235xi that I've been drooling over the last few weeks:
Melbourne Red on Black:
Was torn between this one or a black on coral w/out performance exhaust. I love coral interior and was leaning towards that one. But damn, when I fire-up the red one with performance exhaust? I got all teary eyed and went with that one. Hopefully close the deal tomorrow or Saturday...

The exhaust only cost me $650 to do on my own so thats something to think about, although I don't think you can get it for that little these days, but maybe $200-300 more.

Yeah I'd say go with what you really wanted and just get the exhaust done yourself. It'll most definitely be cheaper then the markup the dealer has on it.

Ive had a night to sleep on it and I am fine with the Melbourne Red..Actually like that exterior color more than black - which is a bitch to keep clean. I can sexy up the black interior with some carbon fiber mods too.

Well, After going back and forth between a number of cars, I picked-up my new M235xi today!
After 3 years of driving an X3 28i, am finally back to a passion car. It's way to early to say much in the driving impression department and not sure I'll add more than what you all already know. It does seem very comprehensive in terms of driving dynamics; delivering kick ass performance + exemplary feed-back in sport and great comfort/luxury too. Very, very reminiscent of my e46 M3 is what it is - but with a bit more refinement. LOVE, love, love the sport exhaust. Cant wait till it breaks in more. And as you all know, break-in period is going to be difficult Am trashing the All Seasons and going Blizzak LM60's to be put on later this week..And the WeatherTech Floor Liners should be hear soon too. Haven't even thought about other mods yet - but Summer Tires/Wheels will be high on the list as will be carbon fiber performance interior trim. I am a sucker for Carbon Fiber. Many, thank to Warren, Brent and Lea from Minnetonka BMW..They made the deal happen and kept me in the BMW family and very happy I might add Here are some iPhone pix...Sorry, they are kinda crappy -but the best i can do when its still near sub-zero and slushy as hell outside.

The difference was significant imo...It added a nice visceral auditory edge. I expect the sport exhaust to improve with age (as will probably the OE). Is it worth the extra $$$? It was to me so I bought it. Thats not to say it will be the same for everybody. In my short time behind the wheel, I didnt get any drone on the highway and really rears it head in sports mode...Love the burble and bubbles on down shifts too. Maybe someone else can chime in? I've only had a day with it! And of course I'm still biased and full of adrenalin with a new car

No drone st all with the M Performance exhaust. Honestly I don't think its that loud at all, but I've spent so much time in or driving a RS4 with a non resonated Magnaflow exhaust that not much else could be near those noise levels. I think its really a nice balance noise wise especially with the valving in it, relatively quiet when you want and just that little bit something special when you need it. One thing the M Performance exhaust does is have a nice overrun with burbling and popping that the stock doesn't really do.

Nice! Love the color. Congrats. Would love to hear the exhaust. Just a quick ? to the OP, why LM60s vs WS70s? Does the LM offer more performance as well as snow/ice grip? I ask because I'll have to choose a tire to put back on when I remove the PSSs off my Track Pack when I get it and I'm not that clear on what to put back on. Thanks.

The trade-off is that a snow/ice tire is "grippier" so to speak when it comes to big snows and ice due to its softer compound. That said, I've owned both Dunlop Winter Sports and Blizzak LMs and I live in snow country. Never had an issue in them handling anything mother nature tossed at us. That was with RWD M3's! In Xdrive they are perfect imo. I personally can't drive a snow/ice tire on a performance vehicle. It was like driving on rubber bands to me. Others prefer a softer, winter tire. Key is to know what you like best and what your needs are:

I have the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3s. I can say the performance so far is on par with the PSS before winter hit. We have not had any really snow though, so I cannot judge that for you. From other reviews, I know the A/S3s are good for light snow/powder, but for a heavy winter, they will not compare true winter shoes. I swapped out the PSS for the A/S3 for a more year-round ride that could handle sub-freezing temps.
