Bad ECU flash. Please help! e90
So I was doing an ECU update through winkpf and at 24% error occurred, ECU security access denied.
Tried again and nothing changed. Now when I try to flash I get error saying no answer from ECU. I cannot start the car. Is there any way I could flash it successfully? Inpa is reading and clearing codes without problems. I would apriciate all help!! Thanks! |

Ecu must be bricked. Also check your battery voltage! It must be fully charged and quite new... Can you see the module under INPA uif ??? date and version have changed??? Last edited by laurentProd; 01-10-2015 at 06:44 PM.. |

Yes its DDE/DME Ecu.
I have just checked and i can see it under inpa however it doesnt show any version I will unplug - on the battery and see how it goes after that, i am also getting a battery charger to try with that (i know i should have done it in the first place). One more thing correct me if I am wrong. Winkpf > comfort mode > choose Ecu family ( can i choose any dde module, and winfpf will automaticly choose the correct one? ) > input VIN > done > F3 Flash? My ECU ZB no is: 7568668. If it wont work what are mine options? I have heard of NFS emergency flash>? |

Like a lot of people, I guess OP was playing with modules without an external battery support charger / supply. Too many people doing this at the moment then confused when their battery dies and module ends up bricked.

It wasnt due to low battery. I think i had a problem with cable driver settings.
Also had everything possible turned off I am happy its sorted now. Doe anyone know when could I find which module has what name and which is the latest available update? |

just go to inpa -funtional jobs-uif- then should display all your modules and their current zb number so just put that zb number on winkfp and check it theres an update . ohh if you have navigation do not try to update the ccc/cic with winkfp ... |

i had 2 similar situations where i was flashing the dme/ecu , and the Transmission and due to low voltage the process didnt go trhu
so i had to conect a charger and evrrything went tru just fine. . so is this happens to.anyone dont panic. just start the flashing process again from the begining and make sure you have a battery charger connected or some kind of extra pwr hooked up to the car toure working with. |
