Where to get BMW spark plug tool?

I'm misfiring and have picked up new plugs to swap in (and will replace coils as needed - $75 per coil ain't cheap). However, the dealership won't sell me the spark plug tool, and Autozone and O'Rielly don't have it.

Anyone know where I can get one, preferably in the Austin area? Or can I use a generic spark plug socket?

Yeah, don't know if you'd want to wait for shipping while you're mis-firing but online will probably be your best bet. BMS has it for $19 & shipping is usually very quick.

Generally, a socket isn't something I'd cheap out on, so just make sure you don't over torque anything since the cheaper socket is likely made of cheap metal. I know plenty of people that have used the one I have with no issue though!

The BMS socket has a magnet inside that holds the plug as you raise and lower it. It's a critical feature especially when installing.

+1 on BMS socket with magnet. Made the installation very easy and fast. It's a few $ more but worth it for peace of mind.

Same, if anything it gripped the plug a little too tight, would break the extension off once or twice during installation of new plugs.

Well, Since We're on the Topic....

I'm generally not one to openly rep specific vendors or products over competitors; however, from my own experience the BMS socket with the integrated magnet has been the best socket I've used personally.
