NO MORE BMW..Value & Quality not there any more

The title says it. My mom's sold her car. She is fighting the big "C" now and is retiring.

First: She just sold her 08 BMW 335XI at a very big loss. It was in several papers and online autotrader. We advertised the hell out if it.

Second, she was tired of talking to BMW customer service about the oil cooler that was promised.

and last but not least..she was in-secure about driving it with all the fuel pump failures.

sad...

Regardless of BMW or not, the first 18 months is the biggest depreciation period of a car's life. And since your car is an 07...and hers is an 08, that means that the fuel pump issue was well known before your mom got her car...why did she get it in the first place if she's worried about the pump failing?

LOL

Someone that can take a 9k depreciation hit on an '08 has money. It's funny that they have time to complain as well. I work among some people like that. Not that they'd give me the time of day, but a little imperfection or misunderstanding, and their 4 mil. coop is on the market and the last broker is canned. They don't like their car blah blah blah they just lost 100k in AC, Santa wasn't good to them, their 4th wife is a ****, it never ends. But spill juice on their new carpet and you're fired!

No BMW here, but you get the idea. The steepest part of the depreciation curve is when you drive it off the dealer's lot. Otherwise, BMWs have fairly decent depreciation curves according to most sources.

so nowhere in this thread has the op mentioned anything about a problem that ACTUALLY occurred... only complaining that the service dept wont fix something that isnt broken? has your mom taken her xi to limpmode because of lack of oilcooler? has she actually suffered from a faulty hpfp?

How old are you? Did that really make you feel better?

But seriously, what did you expect from making a thread that a troll would make?

If the car was bought on the spur of the moment, and can not actually afford the payment, so be it. If your car left you stranded in the middle of the road, and you're fed up with the 335, so be it.

But your situation is not exactly the same here..is it?

what does your moms cancer and your dislike of BMW's have to with eachother. You shouldnt even mention it, unless your trying to gain people's sympathy. My father passed away from stomach cancer 14 years ago....so I have a place to speak here in this thread.

Wait...I'm confused. Your mom's surprised that the car depreciated a bit in its first year?

Btw, sorry to hear bout the cancer.

I'm sorry about your Mom but this isn't exactly the right forum to bring up a personal tragedy and expect a lot of touchy/feely responses.

Then why couldnt you just leave it at that. Why'd you go about saying that she got rid of it becuase of the issues YOU THOUGHT it MIGHT have? So she got rid of it because she cant drive.......and thats that, whats with all the all "NO MORE BMW" and " GO F**K YOURSELF" stuff?

the reality is that its easier to be straight forward with someone when you dont have to look at them face to face. But the advantage of that is that you can cut all the BS and get to the logical reality of a given subject.

Sorry, you do not understand.,,no matter why she got rid of it, it did not hold any of it's value and was promised an oil cooler that never came to be..

how many are bounced around by BMWNA everyday...

+1,000,000. That is a very understandable reason and if this was posted in the first place..there would absolutely be no flamming AT ALL. When we sold my uncle's Lexus, it wasn't that the car was unreliable or waiting for some promised parts from the dealership, but it was because he was too ill to drive.
