Coding - iPhone/iPad app?
Total newb at even thinking about coding, but there are a number of little issues with Lucy I would like to change (auto fold mirrors, etc)
Problem: I don't have a laptop (strictly iMac desktop and multiple iphone/ipad guy - laptop no longer serves any real need for us) Some interweb searching showed me the "BMWhat" app, which seems to suggest some coding can be done with the app (and a further dongle). Anyone used this (or any other) app for coding via an iphone or ipad?

I am in the exact same situation as you (iMac, iPad, iPod but no PC laptop).
Also interested in iOS coding option for my BMW. |

So iViNi makes the BMWhat app for iPhone and also makes a good wifi dongle. according to their website, the two together will currently do diagnostics on F series but not coding http://www.ivini-apps.com/apps_detai...at_iphone.html According to this guy on Amazon, coding F-series with their app and dongle won't be possible till Q2 http://www.amazon.com/review/R7NY1ZZ...ore=automotive BUT the app you found from bimmerretrofit suggests that they are using the BMWhat dongle and their own (apparently not-yet-released-app) and, yeah, that looks like some sort of F series..... The other thing I noted from bimmerretrofit is that with their larger OBD dongles (which i assume is the thing that plugs into the car to create the interface) they only rent them for $120 CDN. The smaller BMWhat dongle can be purchased for around 44 EUR. Plus the BMWhat app has the app (which they have a free version of so you can test or you can pay another $44 CDN for it in the itunes store).... Hmmm.....interesting.
