BMW surveys sure are annoying

I was in a meeting the other day, and when I get back to my office, there are 2 missed calls on my desk phone, and one on my cell. The area code is Oregon, which made me curious who has my cell in addition to my office, in a state I've never heard of or been to. I call the number and it's BMW.

They subsequently called two more times, and when I said I choose not to answer, they send me an email stating if they don't hear from me, they will contact me by phone. I figure why bash my dealership? They're not gonna get all 5's, they stink, but I have no reason to formally give them all 1's.

The above is very bad customer service--I would like to think that the co. BMW contracted with is over-zealous, not that BMW NA told them to do the above. I'm going to have to have my cousin deal with them. He plays a mind game with telemarketers, and by the time he's done he's asking them on a date. Trust me, they stop after that.

Great car, bad customer service.

I have the same problem with VW calling me and asking me to do their surveys... But this is every time I go to the dealer for something, even if I'm just picking up oil and filters.

Funny thing is, VW calls, and lets it ring only once and hangs up. I don't even have a chance to react to that...

Gah.

I had that last year - they called while I was driving and I lost the call after agreeing to do the survey. The next day they called 2 or 3 times when I was too busy to answer and I was annoyed (and knew the number at that point), so I decided not to talk to them - they must have called 2-3 times a day for a week before they finally gave up - they should do a survey on how much we all hate surveys!

Man I don't know how you can afford a BMW if you've never heard of Oregon.

i agree. the worst part is, the lady that does the survey has the flattest voice, without ANY emotions. i can't say "5" to someone that I would rate "1" of. so i stopped answering calls from them and they would give up after a couple of weeks.

so agree.
i missed one call and they called back 4 times.
went to the voice mail, it had an option to call back for the survey. So why did they have to annoy me and call back 4 more times?

I realized some time back that BMW's surveys were absolutely and totally borked, so I no longer participate. When that number pops up, I don't answer.

Maybe they should stop doing surveys so we can all get $hitty service since no one is watching. Give the dealer what they deserve so they can improve or else stop complaining.

The agency conducting the surveys might get maid based on numbers of surveys completed. That would explain their persistence.

I immediately say....

I know all the questions. Give them all 5's. Later.

Takes 30 seconds tops

If I had a legitimate complaint my dealer would know before the survey chimps even have a chance to call me.
