I lost me main key but have a copy thank god. I was wondering if I bought a "blank" key would a bmw guru in my area be able to code it to work with my car and comfort access? Something like this:
http://m.ebay.com/itm/151552592541?cmd=VIDESC&gxo=true" rel="ugc" target="_blank">http://<a href="http://m.ebay.com/it...C&gxo=true</a>" rel="ugc" target="_blank">http://<a href="http://<a href="http...o=true</a></a> EDIT: Also to kill two bird with one stone I recently took my seats out to steam my car and forgot to unplug battery so now I get a seatbelt and airbag warning, could a coder also clear this code? Would be good to know that the bags still worked in the case of a collision. Thanks guys!

Key coding is beyond most on this forum. Simply because is requires expensive tools. It's not widely offered by individuals as partly due to the issues around BMW thefts. There's also the risk of bricking your CAS. I'd go to a dealer or good Indy for key programming.

Just checked out your link. Used keys off eBay are useless. You will need a blank or 'virgin' key. Then maybe a specialist can program it with the right kit.
A dealer won't code a blank though. You'd have to buy it new from them. |
