F80 Service Bulletin?

Hello,

I had my 1200 mile break-in service done yesterday. In addition to the oil/diff changes, the Service Manager said they also did a service bulletin which has something to do with software update and bluetooth.. see line item B.

Has anyone heard about this? My M3 is not the first one they've done the 1200 service.

Where did you do your break in service in Houston? See that you also got your diff fluid changed, which has been a subject of debate.

I had it done at Momentum BMW West. The adviser was familiar with having to change oil and diff and they had the parts (plugs) (He said when they first had to do this service they did not have the parts but they learned so they now stock them). I asked about transmission fluid change and he said it is not needed.

I have a DCT with Enhanced USB/Bluetooth option.

Yes it is an "Open Campaign." Please share what you've learned once you get your car. Thanks.

Will do, Thank you!
Shouldn't be too long of a process?

I do not know what the open campaign software update has done, but previously everything worked fine, but now I'm not able to play music from my phone by using the controls on the car, I have to manually go into the music app on my iPhone and press play... Previously once you connect the phone to the car (either via bluetooth or usb), you can start playing music either by using the dial/mouse pad control or by using the knob on the radio.... Please check and see if you're also experiencing this.

I'm going in this Saturday to do my break in service. I'll let you know what happens when I get back. Also, in my car. Since I have the iPhone 6 everything doesn't seem to want to work when I plug it in. I.e Pandora, spotify. I believe the update is suppose to fix that so I can control it from the dial...

They said they looked it up and the instruction says to remove the bumper so they quoted me $295. I told him they only have to remove 8 bolts on top and pull back on the bumper skin but I guess they didn't want to try.

I just spoke to my SA and asked about the above "fix" and was told " I did it to my own car as it was supposed to fix some things on the integration with my I-phone 6, made it worse and I had to reverse it".

Just saying

Can you please find out how he "reversed" it? reload the older version of the software?

Thanks.

I really don't want to keep calling him on this as he is an extremely busy guy and I have bothered him enough with the pass through Vert problem already.
He did say that this particular upgrade takes 2 minutes with a USP Stick and he said it took just that long to reverse it as well.

Doesn't YOUR dealer help you with these problems?

Yes the SA is looking into this for me and I've told him others were able to reverse it.

Just was informed about this 1200 mile service...SA is telling me its a rear diff change and then the engine crank up.

Is this service covered by BMW Rx7andy ? If not, and you dont mind me asking, how much it run you ?
