these arent KW V2's for an F30 are they? HELP!!!!

So, some of you may have seen my other thread from last weekend when i finally figured out what was causing my car to have issues over the past 5 months (melted catalytic converter). Since my car is now FINALLY back in tip top shape, today i attempted to install some KW V2's that i bought from Velos Designwerks (they were used, not new) back in late august.well i got the front passenger side done with no issues at all.
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i121/obriennathaniel/3B3ADDF2-91D6-485B-82B7-042007C163E9.jpg~original

So then i started on the driver side and thats when i ran into my issue. The place where the stabilizer bar attaches to the strut is in the wrong place....or at least thats what it seems like. Theres no way it can attach without putting it in a bind, and the wheel cant turn left.

so after a few minutes i got to looking at part numbers on the struts and whats on the box and they dont match up

So am i correct in assuming these are the wrong coilovers for my F30 335i? because if not someone PLEASE slap me and tell me what im doing wrong lol. Oh and they didn't come with any instructions either, but who needs them (i think) coilovers are pretty much a straight forward installation.

nope, the heads are fixed to the rods, and the bolts on the heads only have about a 30 degree movement outwards.

also from other pics ive seen of KW V2's for 335 F30s, none of them have that extra bracket welded on, which on our cars is useless further convincing me that these are the wrong ones.

If I am not mistaking, the Velos guy had a 435. You have to check with KW to see if the part numbers are the same.

You are correct, I went back and found the ad in the classifieds. He PM'd me about them, I had never seen the ad or I wouldn't have bought them

Well I went and checked, the 335/435 KW's are the same ones, so im not sure what KW's I have. I tried searching by the numbers on the struts but nothing comes up.

+1 to Kerraam's statement. You have them on the wrong sides.

Check the 5th page. It gives 200 1034 as front strut part no. So nothing wrong with that I assume.

Your passenger side has the "L" one and driver side the "R". It has to be the opposite I think if they mean Left&Right.
I see, but the factory struts are identical. They're not side specific. It doesn't make sense just thinking about it but I'll try to swap them around.

Assuming US Spec car for driving side, facing the front of car
L is Left side (driver)
R is right side (Passenger)

On another note we are here 9:30-6:30 Mon-Fri and can be reached by phone for things like this which I would consider an emergency. Further more I sold these as KW's for a 435i.

Thanks for everyone that shared their input and OP in the future please contact KW or the company that sold the product for a quick response. If you have any other install questions feel free to call us.

Best Regards,

Factory struts have small nipples that would not allow them to be installed backwards. While they may look the same they are indeed different.

Here are my factory struts....identical

And here are the KW's after i switched sides

This the Passenger side aka the "right" side, the stabilizer bar is in a bind, again, after a very slight turn to the left, but this time on the passenger since i switched the Coilovers.

slight left turn

stabilizer in a bind

and here is the drivers side, aka the "left" side, with the stabilizer in the correct position, no binding at all, unlike before i switched them around when it was in a bind just how the passenger side is now.

So either im a complete retard and doing this wrong, these are the wrong coilovers, or BMW used the same struts and stabilizer bars on both sides of my cars on accident, and therefore explains why the stabilizer bar is not fitting correctly because its facing the wrong direction.

This is odd. Call us tomorrow afternoon, we will get on the phone with KW but the front should be the straight forward install on this.

Not sure if KW has the oem style alignment tabs but those are definitely not aligned properly. When looking from the front you shouldn't be able to see the swaybar end link connection point.

Pic of my suspension for reference

The alignment tab in question

Yea so it turns out its because these V2's are for an EDC 335/435, mine is non EDC, and the mounts are different between the two. These are now for sale. I bought a set of BC's instead.
