ONR meet Toronto Road Salt
Really hate all of the touchless washes in my area so I am about to bust out the Optimum No Rinse I just got and tackle the caked on salt in my garage. I would have posted before and after at the same time but I realised my wash mitts weren't in the best shape so they are all going through the laundry right now so I'll post just the before pics now while I've got some time to kill.
Hopefully this isn't too much of a challenge for ONR... stay tuned. |

afer...
scary but it works... left windows a little on the greasy side and I think the cold made it a little difficult to dry, but I am otherwise quite pleased.
most of the pics I took didn't really turn out so these will have to do... feel free to laugh, I put these on the winter rims for a joke. |

yeah the salts are very gay. i picked up my car on monday and on wednesday since it was kind of sunny i decided to take some pics, butthen when i looked at the car and saw how dirty it had gotten in just 2 days, i changed my mind instantly.

Thanks for the kind words... the pics don't really do it justice. My camera is pretty crap in low light situations. As others have already mentioned I got it from eshine.ca. I like dealing with them since they are CDN.
The product was very easy to work with, I washed and dried the whole car in 40 minutes in my garage with nothing more than 2 gallons of water and 2 capfuls of the ONR in a bucket with a grit guard. 1 microfibre wash mitt... didn't want to use lambs wool because I knew it would get really dirty. 1 spray bottle filled from the original bucket mixture and 2 microfibre towels for drying. They suggest you do one panel at a time but it was so cold that I found I could an entire side of the car without fear of drying, plus that way I wasn't drying next to dirty areas... I did however rinse my mitt VERY frequently. Like I said before I'm not too keen on how it left the windows so I had to go over them with some Stoners Invisible Glass but it's still the best mid-January wash my car has ever had. Very impressed with the product but I can't wait for the summer time to do a full detail in the shade with a few cold beers. |

Now why'd you have to do your car in mid Jan? I'm really pissed off with you. Reason being, when I see your before and aft pics, it makes me remember just how nice our Monaco Blue sedan looks when clean and now I've got to get off my arse and use ONR. I'm blaming you for this. I tried, really tried, to get used to the salt on the car. This thread means more work for me.
Incidentally, I went to a coin op bay and sprayed the car yesterday. Holy $hit, the water froze all over my car. You could hear the ice creak as I drove away. So, looks like either a touchless wash or ONR for these very cold days. Quote:
