Really need help and advice regarding fuel pump
I need help guys. My fuel pump was replaced 2 weeks ago. See thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=105791
A week after my fuel pump was replaced, car started having long cranks. About 5-8 seconds before the car starts. Happens about once or twice a day. Never had this problem prior to the failed fuel pump. I brought my car to the dealer on thrusday and after 2 days of being in the shop, the dealer calls me and says there is absolutely nothing wrong with my car. The tech said, the computer recorded 1 error with the fuel injector 9 drive cycles prior, but after physically checking the fuel pump, everything was normal and they couldn't reproduce the long cranks and there is nothing wrong with my car. My SA wants me to record on camera one of these long cranks before they do anything more with my car. What should I do?

Owner intervention can sound like a pain in the ass but take my case.
My MDX was having Navigation issues off and on. I told them and of course they could not replicate the issue. I recorded it on my phone and told them. They still said that they didn't have any clue what I was referring to since they still could not replicate it. I saved the video file onto a CD and they forwarded the file to an Acura tech. He was able to diagnose the problem and told the shop to replace my DVD player that the Nav used. After that, never had a problem |

Yep, you're gonna have to do their job for them.

You have a couple of choices, as I see it.
1 - Fight with them over it. Tell them to keep the car, and drive it until the replicate the problem and provide you a loaner until it is identified and fixed. They won't like this option, and it will be a long, agravating fight. Plan on calling BMWNA and getting no joy there. 2 - Get a video camera (phone, cheap digital camera) and record every start from now until you catch it. Total time for you should be 5 minutes, assuming you have a video camera. You chose which one works best for you.
