Launch control 435i
I have a 435i Grancoupe ; I am wondering when the launch control can be used. I tried to use it but it would not come up on my dash that it is active. I only have 380 miles on my car. Are any options needed for launch control?

I wouldn't use it until you have around 1200 miles. I think you need the sport transmission to use it anyway.
To use it you have to: 1. Allow engine to reach operating temp (dunno what temp that is exactly, just wait until your engine is warm). 2. Put your car in Sport+ mode. 3. Move shifter to the "M/S" setting. 4. Fully depress brake. 5. Hit the throttle. This will engage launch mode. 6. Within 3 seconds, release the brake. |

Alright...dude...glad you asked. Mine wasnt working also. However, i found my problem and remedied the situation. So, first make certain that you've driven for at least 6 miles. From a stop, go to sport +/traction off. Then, shift the gear lever to the left so ur in sport S mode. Heres where i was not doing it correctly. Step on the brake...allllllll the way down to the floor. Allll the way dude. Then hit the gas all the way down passed the little click. At this point ull see a flag in dash screen stating launch activated. The rpms wont go crazy dont worry, they drop to around 2 to 3 rpm. U can then let go of the brake...and enjoy. I was very happy it finally worked for me. My issue i wasnt pressing the brake all the way down to the floor. My wife caught itnon video. The car hunkers down...really cool...like a cat about to pounce on prey. But dont abuse the luanch control dude, it has the potential to ruin the car.

If you look up the owner's manual, it says to drive at least 6 miles and use it on a road that is slightly ok looking (no potholes). I'm in Florida so the best spots would be around Homestead or the Everglades. I haven't tried mine yet, but good luck!

Hi, instead of starting a new thread...
mine is a 2014 335i and I tried many times launch control but it doesn't show the flag and all I get is wheel spin over and over again. I followed all the steps from the manual but still no luck drive for 10km in comfort mode not aggressively ASS off let car rest for 5 min put in sport + shifter in s, so it shows the gear s1,s2,s3.... brake all the way down throttle all the way down to the button click with other foot wait for 3 sec and nothing happens other than wheel spin I have the sport auto but without paddles , it shows s1,s2,s3.. etc and when in manual mode shifting above 4k I get a kick , even when not in manual mode shifting on high rpm gives a nice kick what am I doing wrong guys ? please help |

I didn't know about this.OMG Don't know why I was thinking all this time that launch control was the same as traction off. Will try tomorrow on my way to work

If you do use it, you could send metal shavings in the oil throughout the system and damage it. Which is why the engine break in procedure is very important as it extends the life of the engine. |

Not flag in the corner right dash. My13 and older doesn't come with LC activated. So I guess I need to code it.
I will code this today and try. DSC2 => 3000 => Funktion_LaunchControl_aktiv => aktiv EGS => 3000 => LC => aktiv
