Misfire problem

Ok, So ive read about 20 threads and i just want to ask this.

What can cause a misfire on a SINGLE cylinder? (yes ive read the sticky)

Ive replaced all spark plugs, and ive replaced the Coil Pack and Fuel Injector on the misfiring cylinder. and yes i HAVe recoded the fuel injector properly.

Before it would only misfire under high pressure close to WOT

Then it would misfire under about 50% throttle

Now it constantly misfires and wont stop, clearing codes does NOT stop misifre, neither does restarting.

Ideas? I dont want to replace everything i honestly cant afford it, so more insight would be great!

Current Mods:
Jb4 G5, Catless Dp's, Cold air intake, CP / BOV, Remus race exhaust.

MISFIRe happens on MAP 0, so with the chip basically off.

Why might that be? I'm not having any issues we're trying to figure out what the Op and Exxxtacy is experiencing. But thanks for your input

I hope that ends up helping. If the valves for that cylinder are caked up and not moving freely I'd assume that'll cause a misfire since less air is coming in.

Exactly what I told Exxxtacy about a hour ago. He is doing that now and he should chime in with results

My issue with missfire was under heavy load and it was due to the spark plug in cylinder 6.

Did you use oe bmw plugs? Was gapping correct?

Same for injectors, were they oe bmw?

And i changed all spark plugs, not with OE but with good well gapped spark plugs. And i replaced all coils, and i only replaced ONE injector. And the misfire has been on Cylinder 3 the whole time

I hope you're right. Good luck. It's frustrating when you can't even pass cars on the highway without going into limp mode. It got to where I was driving around with the cobb plugged in so I could clear the limp mode.

I think injectors need to be replaced in bank 1/2 sets if the part numbers or revisions are different.

Hopefully someone else can confirm this.

I was almost going to say DISA valve since I had similar symptoms, but just realized you had an N54.
