Going to the dealership this week!!!!

Thats right ladies and gentlemen, I get to go and order my 335i this week!

Please give me any advice you have regarding leases and anything else I should know.

So far this is what I am ordering and asking about....

2008 BMW 335i Sedan
Base model w/ steptronic transmission as the only option
Alpine white w/ beige leatherette

I am going to make sure that the oil cooler comes standard with the 2008's. They have told me this before, but I am going to get it in writing so that I can make sure that I have it.

Thanks in advance for any help, I cant wait to get this bad boy....

You may want to consider the sport package. The rims really change the look of the car, and the handling is improved. You'd also get the paddle shifters automatically since you are ordering steptronic.

Have fun.

Yeah, I was thinking about getting the sport package, but I am trying to keep the monthly payment under 500 dollars. Plus, I will probably end up getting M6 reps....

Thanks for the advice, I will see how much the sports package will increase the payment per month....

I went with a stripper 335i coupe, 6mt. and still got the sports package for the seats, tires, and rims. Well worth it.

I don't think that VINYL seats belong in a $40k BMW. If they actually called them "vinyl" instead of leatherette, would you want it in ANY other car? Spin doctors at their finest

Just out of curiosity, when you say you're going to make sure the oil cooler comes standard...is this an issue with the 335s? Don't they already come with the air coolers?

Interesting. I will definitely look into it and see how much it increases the lease payment. I will be doing a lot of driving so I believe the seats will be worth it.... Thanks for the advice

Air coolers? On the 2007 335i you had to order the sport package in order to get the oil cooler. I am going to make sure that it is standard equipment now so that if I don't get the sport package I will still get the oil cooler. Living down here in Texas I am sure that I will need it....

LOL...yeah, dont really know how to respond to that bro. I want a 335i and if that means going with leatherette (vinyl) then so be it. I would rather drive a 335i with vinyl than a Ford with leather....

Don't worry about the second oil cooler unless you plan on tracking your car or pushing it REAL hard. Leather is way overrated in my opinion. Vinyl seats are much easier to maintain.

You can pick up an OEM sport suspension for $300 shipped or less from a member on this forum and then upgrade to aftermarket wheels.

Even down here in Houston? I figured with the summer temps (95+) that I would need the additional oil cooler. I will see what they say, if I can get it without to much hassle then I will....

Get sports package.
-Seats are more comfy and doesn't look as "cheap".
-sport steering wheel
-sports suspension

Since you are planning on getting aftermarket wheels, sell your ZSP OEM ones and you basically split the ZSP price.

Thanks! I will try and negotiate to see if I can get the sports package. It is going to be a tough sell because it will increase the payment a good amount. Thanks again for all of the help guys....

You don't need the speed limiter to be lift to 150 instead of 130? I think for 1k it's sure is worth it for the seats, wheels/rims, and the limiter. Just my .2 cents

To be honest with you 130 is plenty fast for me, and I honestly doubt I will go over that. I have had my experiences with high speeds with my first car since it only had a rev limiter and not a speed governor (91' Mustang GT). I want the 335i because of the perfect mix of luxury and performance, going 135+ is definitely not make or break for me. I am going to try and get the sport package included but it is more for the seats and wheels, not the speed limiter.

just get the manual which will decrease the cost by a grand, since auto is a grand, and with that savings u can get the sport pack.
I suggest that you lease it with no down payments. trust me on this it is well worth it. good luck

I will be doing a lot of driving in stop and drive traffic, and as such I really dont want to be shifting in that.

Ok, well I just got back from the dealership and it went pretty well.

The test drive was fun, but kind of boring since it was raining and the SA was in the car with me and my dad. I got to get on it a little bit, and it is definitely a quick car with lots of torque down low.

The car I ended up going with is as follows:

335i Sedan
Alpine White
Black Leatherette
Steptronic
Sport Package w/ paddle shifters

We got the payment to come out to about 541/month....

Thanks again for all of the help guys.....
