3rd fuel pump failure on 335?

Has any 335 owners had their fuel pump fail more than once?

Has this problem been propery fixed?

The reason I am asking is because I would love to get a 335 with all the options I crave but don't have now (i.e. BMW assist, comfort access, bluetooth and 300hp).

If you get your fuel pump repalced, is that the end of the problems? Are 2008's fine?

My buddy's 2nd fuel pump in 2 months has failed. Jim Lai has also reported a 2nd pump failure like within 5 days of each other.

I know BMW will rectify the problem and everything is covered by warranty, but that is inconvenient.

What about other manufacturers that use high pressure fuel pumps and direct injection? Do they have similar problems?

My 08 is about to die...

Long cranks followed by sputtering at redlights etc...

These are sure signs of it, kinda like having a mild itch before a major genital herpes breakout...

When I test drove a 335 before getting 328, I asked dealer about fuel pump issues, and he said he's never heard of any failures. Right....

Why? They get paid for replacing the pumps. If anything they want more cars to break so they can make money.

It doesn't matter, dealerships don't make that much money for selling the cars itself, most of their revenue comes from the service department.

The "GM approach" to the customer assumes "Consumer Variety Seeking Behavior" -- no matter what they do, the consumer will buy another brand next time.

Wow. So long cranks is to HPFP failure AS mild itching is to a genital herpes outreak. Interesting angle.

Your new one is very likely to fail as well, so you're not really gaining anything.

Unfortunately, 2008 cars are still having issues with the HPFP. I have only 700 miles (11/07 build) and so far...........no long cranks......yet.....

I bought this car knowing about this fuel pump issue. I decided to Lease my 335i coupe after I heard about this issue when I originally planned on purchasing the vehicle.
