Just curious how many of you on this site are in the military and where are you stationed.
I'm in the Army, helicopter pilot, 22 years in and stationed in Savannah, GA. |

You didn't specifically ask about veteran status, but I'll chime in anyway. I "retired" after four years. On active duty during the first Gulf war. Intel analyst. Fort Jackson; Presidio of Monterey; Goodfellow AFB, TX (twice); Fort Devens, MA; Camp Humphreys, Korea; Fort Huachuca, AZ; Fort Monmouth, NJ.

Vietnam-era veteran here - 1967-69, was in WOFT but got bumped at the C1 flight physical. Ft. Polk, Ft. Hood. Wished I'd been able to complete rotary-wing program, but I probably wouldn't be here writing this if I had. 44 years in I/T, spent 3 years as volunteer firefighter/medic and 10 as reserve law officer in TX. Congrats and thanks to all of my fellow veterans and current active-duty military.

Air Force for 13 years here, currently on the ROK.
Started out at Spangdahlem, moved to Davis-Monthan for a few years before heading to Lakenheath. I didn't come here with a follow on, so my good luck with assignments may be over.

21 years Army, 17 years defense contractor, last 8 years civil servant. Most of my military career was spent in Germany (Ansbach, Giessen, Darmstadt). First new car was a 1971 BMW 2002 bought in Germany; unbelievable what BMW was able to do with a 2 liter, one barrel carburetor!

So do you other military types get decent discount?
In UK we get pretty much 25% with all car manufacturers, ford, BMW, jaguar, vauxhall, fiat group. If overseas we also get a further 20% Tax removed (VAT). |
