Something in the key setting?

Twice now I've found my 2014 435 xDrive unlocked with the windows rolled down in a snowstorm. Likely something was pressing on the key in my pocket when I was close to the car in the house, but I don't even know how to do this with the key!

If you dont like this "feature" you can code out/disable the ability to roll down windows from the key fob.

If I don't leave my keys far enough away (not sure what the range is) when washing my car the CA will activate from the water rolling over the sensors.

Yes and unlock and lock as you're spraying water on it.

Just stop doing whatever you're doing with the key fob. Simple enough.

I'm actually kidding, but on a serious note, since I have CA, I just always put the fob in a pocket without any other items, plus I don't have any other keys attached to it. This seems to do the trick.

Actually, I remember reading a thread a couple months ago where a member said his windows opened on their own and he's POSITIVE he didn't press the button on the FOB. I'll try to find the thread.

Yeah I have it and it sucks. There is nothing to keep the fob from rotating out of the holster. The holster isnt very snug at all especially at the top part. I think the 3D design one from Japan is much nicer. I may get that.

I'm surprised considering the range on the key is extremely poor

It does rotate out WAY too easily. I ended up putting a small strip of Velcro on the inner edge and it stays inside the leather, no problem. And since I have Comfort Access, I pretty much never have to pull it out. Once I did that, I really like the thing. It adds a little thickness, yes, but I never get an accidental press. And it stays unscratched when it's in my pocket.

I thought it was a double press in quick succession? Easily done with cold hands

What? Something may be wrong with your key?? i have stayed 200 feet or more from my car and opened it! In fact as long as I have line of sight the signal seems to reach the car, i will have to test it to see how far i can actually go.

It is a single long press.

+1.. 300-400+ feet here. My e92 was more like 5-10ft max, so I'm very satisfied.

holding the unlock to open your windows is not a standard feature in Canada.
so unless you got someone to code it in for your , it should not be doing that.

Also, where is your spare FOB/Key located? Could it be accidentally activated?

It may not be standard but must be part of some package as my car does have this feature. It definitely wasn't "coded" as I remember my salesman showing me the feature when I picked up the car when it was brand new. I seem to recall that my old E90 also had this feature.

interesting, I probably get 50ft or less. You guys both have more recent models, curious if they made an adjustment or should I just change my battery.

Everyone who is commenting on how far away is referring to the use of the fob itself and not CA. I get about a 150~200ft range.

My fob needs to be within 4~5ft to be recognized for CA.
