I use these...

Halfords ones that has been posted seems to do the trick for me however a little word to the wise (used to work there) a lad that still does has informed me how all of the "trade"prices have gone up!! So where you used to get tail/brake lights for 37p it's now £1.50!! Don't see the justification to be honest..

That socket is just nylon outer isn't it and still metal on the actual socket?
I've tried looking for one that's fully nylon or something to stop damaging my wheel nuts but not been successful. Pretty much just need a new set each year if you want to keep them looking good. I have read somewhere about placing a carrier bag over the nuts as a barrier between them and the socket but not tried it out myself. |

got the bits delivered
the plastic protects the outer and the inner is also lined with a hard plastic but theres not much room for the nut to move so in theory it shouldn't damage the nut. also the bottom of inner part of socket is plastic and flat too. i suppose you would you breaker bar to looses up the nuts then remove by hand once jacked speaking of which anyone got any links to any super low jacks? |
