M235i to m2

Anybody thinking of getting out of their m235 as soon as the m2 comes out??

Thinking of putting my car on lease trader this fall.

I've considered it but will hold off until full specs. If it's a tuned n55 motor then meh I'll keep the m235i and I really would like a CF roof on it but again meh doubt it'll happen.

I will keep mine for 4 years /50K miles, and then look for a CPO M2 or CPO M4 in the future.

I'm going with the M2 as soon as my M235i lease is up. Timing should be just about right. I won't be one of the first like I was with the 235i, but that way I figure the kinks will be worked out by the time I get mine.

I will trade two years into the M235, that will give the M2 market time to normalize.

Absolutely. IF the M2 is good enough to move into.

Had thought about moving up from 235 to M2 as a daily-driver but decided to stay with the 235.
If I built a garage and wanted a second dream car I'm certain I'd do an M2.
Realized the 235 is all the performance I should have on a daily basis.

Only when the buying frenzy wears off. The M235i is a luxury to me, so the M2 even more so, that I can hold off having to pay full MSRP just to be the first kid on the block to have one. When this lease is up in 2017, I'll consider it.

I'm up in March of 17. One of the first guys to take delivery of the m235i.

Actually ended up having to get the fuel pump replaced after 1k miles.

It's all going to depend on the deal I can get. If the lease deals are horrendous than I will consider maybe buying a cpo Boxster or Cayman S or maybe even a GTS.

An RS3 sedan could be enticing as well.

The M235 is a great car, it just needs a little bit more presence.

This. I will be looking into a used Cayman or euro delivery on a lightly optioned M3. I would have to drive the M3 a few times and get used to the size though so we'll see.

I could have waited but instead decided to go with the M235i. I plan to stick with it as I see this platform the best of all around sports coupe at this time. If the development continues with the M-cars, then I'll look at adding one down the road.

The M2 is the front runner to be my next vehicle. The badder it is the sooner it will be mine. I can't wait to see how it and the competition shape up.

The Q60 could be interesting.

I haven't yet purchased a 2er, but I am awaiting the M2 to see if that is the case for me as well. I mean, the M235i is no slouch. It is almost funny how people act like it is some slow car when the M2 comes up. I mean. Even the M235i is a little absurd from a practical standpoint haha. Still, pretty near flawless even in its current form. At any rate, win-win, and really dependent on individual needs and tastes.

although m235i is a great car, if you're looking into a cayman s its no comparison. Few of us already switched out or at least planning on it.

This. Unless the M2 has all the usual M goodies and a different engine, I will probably be looking elsewhere for my next upgrade. The 235 is about as good a car as BMW is making right now, it has all the power you would want and a suspension to put it down, but the dynamics of a porsche will always win out. I must say the 2 is literally the perfect size for my needs with just enough practicality so I eagerly await what the M2 will offer.

It better! A base price of $84,600 excluding a mandatory $995 destination charge places the 2016 Cayman GTS in top dog M-car pricing and at least $20,000 more than what the M2 might be base priced at.

I'm going M135i to M2, to be honest I'm itching to change now, had the 1er for 2 years this month and I never normally keep my cars this long.

I do keep hankering after a nice 435i though..

I think you'd find that a bit tame in comparison Colin, quite a big car as well. Another year ish still to go too for the M2

That's the problem Chris, it actually weighs more and has less power/torque than the M135i, I just find more and more nowadays that the opertunities to excercise more than 300hp are disappearing, and using the car too and from work you just want to waft there in comfort with a good stereo 99% of the time.

I'm not sure if the M2 will be worth the estimated £650 per month or so for the type of driving I do, I have sent Riaz an email to see what he can quote me on a good spec 435i, just to compare.
