High quality emblems?

I bought some black emblems on eBay about 6 months ago. After just a couple months the hood emblem turned hazy and started to show little cracks on the surface. And now today, it's even worse and it looks like a dried out lake bed, see pics below. The other emblems that came with the kit are fine, but they are more protected from the sun.

Anyone had this issue? The eBay seller was "performance-bot"

Thoughts on where to get high quality emblems that will last a long time?

After 6 months:

I would but I like the look of these ones, cleaner and more subtle.

true, I like the all black as well but always worry that I will spend some $$ and I will have to keep spending and spending to replace them lol. Hopefully someone will post some good ones on here with some long time usage and still looking good
sad anyway that there are people out there selling bad quality things and have no regrets scamming others

You gotta apply a secondary clear coat yourself for the cheap emblems to last :/

Have you considered vinyl overlays to change up the look?

You can get them for about 20 bucks for a few sheets and still retain an OEM emblem- just a thought.

Get the original emblem man, looks 10x better than the all black one

Those black ones look so cheap and unfinished.

This is just a lesson to show that you should never ruin your BMW with one of those all black emblems.

The ones from jbspeed appear to be the same ones I got judging by the packaging in his pictures. I wonder if the wax I used on them messed them up? Or maybe I got a bad batch?

Wrong. I bought the JB Speed set for $70 and they sucked quite terribly. They came directly from China just like the Ebay versions... don't get ripped by these vendors. They outsource their parts and sell the same crap that's on Ebay for twice the price. I've had mines for less than a year and the rear emblem has no finish left on them and the front is peeling and cracking just like the OPs. The ones for the wheels are terrible fitting and the emblems are way off center. In short... THEY SUCK ASS. Just get a set off of eBay for like 25 bucks and put extra clear coat on them.

I agree with you 100%. Many of our vendors sell that same crap on eBay but for a higher price.

My hood emblem is the only one that is messed up, the others are fine. And yes, the wheel emblems fit very loosely and seem like they are going to fall out, but haven't yet luckily. Trunk emblem fit just fine and still looks good.

I may try a new hood emblem and clear coat it.
