Track tire selection help:

I bought a set of the EC-7s 18x10ET33 as well as 5mm front spacers for my F80 during the sale.
What track tires/sizes do you guys know will work with this set up?
(stock suspension and geometry)

I'd go with 275/35 or 275/40 square. R888 and Nitto NT01 come in both those sizes IIRC. DOT slick probably not worth it without some negative camber.

Racing we have to use the R6-now-7s in one series and now the Toyo RR in BMW Spec E36----I can get Hoosiers at discount but there is really no appropriate size that I can see.
I used the NT01s on a E92 for a non-race weekend and they were overall quite nice. They will hold up better than the R888s, yes? I have not used good old R888s since Spec E30 days!....man I am getting old!!

Will a 285 fit these wheels or is that pushing it?

EAS have been running 285 at all 4 corners on their track car.

Yes, but he's got coilovers / camber plates, running about -3.5 camber upfront. OP suspension is stock. I just don't see the point of using slicks with no camber? Although OP says he's doing W2W racing in his stock M4 and has to use R6/7?

I just was replying to the question if 285 would fit

sorry I was misunderstood----I use Hoosiers in Spec Race Atom as well as Lotus Cup car and Lotus 2-11 and we now have to use Toyo RR in BMW CCA Spec E36 class----I do not wheel to wheel my non-caged F80M3---it will be used for VIR club day fun and at times when I instruct

Makes more sense now.

All the more reason to stay away from slicks if you're instructing. Have fun!

any recs over 35 verses 40 side wall in the Nitto?? which is more like the OEM size as to not confuse the car?
I will have off the nannies except of course ABS which I love!! <the atom has no ABS and the HoHos sure don't like those flat spots>

Does anyone know if I stay with 275 size in Nitto will I need larger than 5 mm spacers up front?

I really do not want to change much else on the car as it will be only used on track just few times a year---I already have put up with SPEC camber plates in my E36 for years and it causes bad tire wear---finally this year we are allowed to use an alternative plate----up til now, our Spec E36 race cars carried -4.5 camber!!

But with my discount, Hoosiers are less than the Nittos!!! It is hard to pass up cheaper, sticker rubber!!
But I assume that the Nittos will hold up twice as long as the Hoosiers, correct? I have very little experience with the Nittos but loads with Hoosiers----I honestly think the Hoosiers can get somewhat unsafe after 15 HCs-----believe it or not, I use the A6/7 in the Lotus 2-11 as it weighs only 1500 lbs----now that is a fantastically fun tire on track if you have a light car

We have recorded few issues with R6s on heavy cars (3200+ lbs), after 12-14 HCs we perform extra checks on them, but most issues are not visible to naked eye. We had few blow outs at high speeds at both VIR and Summit, and of course few at Daytona due to banking. So, I agree with the "can get somewhat unsafe..." part.

I want a discount on Hoosiers! How you get this? Curious what $ you pay for 245/35/18 R7 or A7 for my E36?
