Review of HPB LED Bulbs

I ordered 4 Red LED HPB bulbs, 2 Amber HPB Turn signals and 2 White HPB LED backup lights from Top Gear Solutions the other day. Installation was a snap. I had all the lights installed in literally 15 minutes. Even the turn signals did not take long; I used a silver dollar to turn the two plastic screws, on the access hatch inside the wheel well, while I had the wheels turned.

I received the package from Top Gear Solutions in 7 calendar days.

The lights are very bright and definitely an upgrade from the standard incandescent bulbs. I would not hesitate to recommend them to other forum members.

The only issue was that I had codes CC-ID 115 & 117 from the DME. This is from the backup lights hyper flashing, and the DME not liking that. It was a simple fix; all I had to do was add a pair of 50w/60hm load resistors to the power and ground of the backup lights. There are only 4 wires going to the plastic holder in which the bulbs sit in. All I had to do was follow which metal leads, which attached to all of the bulbs (that is the ground), and find which metal lead went to only the backup light. In my case, it was the brown and purple wire.

Below is a link the bulbs I ordered. The rear lights were 7506 and the turn signals was 7507.

Below is the link I used to buy the load resistors from Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The car works great and NO CODES.

Again, only the 7506 white backup lights gave me codes. No big deal and an easy fix. I don't consider myself an expert DIYer when it comes to BMW's or electronics for that matter, but I have been around the block a couple of times. It was not that difficult.

Jeff at Top Gear Solutions was able to answer all of my questions and was extremely helpful.

Thanks Jeff.....

No problem. You're an excellent customer to have and help.

It's also worth mentioning a few things in regards to the error. I recall you stated that the error does go away after a few seconds. This can only lead me to believe you have one of those finicky 07's. According to HPB they haven't had any issues with errors but who knows how many of those customers had 07's.

On a side note, I'll be upgrading one of my beaters brake lights to HPB LED this weekend, I can't wait. (Already have the interior kit and reverse lights).

Ah yes- my bad Jeff.

Can't help with pics, but I can definitely vouch for the excellence of the product from HPB (I've had their interior LEDs in my car for over 2 years with zero issues), and also Jeff- both top notch vendors with great quality product and excellent customer support

You can order online from us or HPB direct, they are not available locally.

Daytime comparison pics please. Most LED bulbs are way to dim to be safely used as a plug and play replacement for critical exterior lights.

They are brighter then stock, we wouldn't put them on the market if they weren't safe.

I agree though, pics would be great.
