For those who have put down deposits for the M2...

Are you negotiating price at all???

I know we are yet to know the price of the M2, but are the dealers saying you will be paying MSRP?

Or are you able to say, "I want to pay $500 above invoice" or $750 above, $1k above, etc.

Just want to be prepared if I decide to place a deposit for one.

Also, curious to see how many have put deposits down so there is a poll available.

I put down a refundable $1k at my local dealership. We didn't discuss discounts, but I have been a long-time customer and don't expect to pay MSRP. We'll see...

you are going to have to pay whatever they want you to pay if you want to be the first...

they might even do a markup over MSRP

No deposit down for me and I can't see how we will be in any position to negotiate prices on a car not yet released as you say.

No deposit needed and am first here. Been a long term customer and have a fine relationship there. I asked and they said, no need at all....and no they said they are not jackin' prices. Discounts? Probably, and will wait to see.

No deposit for me. Im going to wait until this summer to decide if I really want to buy an M2. If summer arrives and I am not happy with the specs or look of the M2, Im going to end up either buying a C63 507 edition or an E92 M3.

£500 down since June 2014 and first in line.

UK dealers are simply not allowed to sell above RRP, I honestly don't know how BMW NA allow it to happen.

My main issue is can I wait it out, or cave and change for something else with great deals on, like a 435i

How can anyone (manufacturer) LIMIT the distributor (dealer) at what resale price they want to sell??
This is against the trade rules.

LOL .... just wait....

even M235i's where going pretty close to MSRP at most dealers at launch... let alone a full M car....

If they only gave around 1-2 allocations /month for the M235 can't imagine how many they will give for the M2

I am first on dealer list with a refundable deposit and decent amount off suggested list. However no guarantees they will honour it.

Deposit placed, first on the list at the time. Discount negotiated. Long time customer and have always been treated right.

This car will be limited availability with the added bonus of being in exceptionally high demand. Please do not confuse this with limited production or limited run. The M2 is neither of the latter. pikachu's post re allocations/pricing is quite correct, red-sauerkraut's is quite incorrect. Just a heads up for those who want the car and are willing to put their money where their mouths are

If you don't mind me asking, what discount were you able to receive?

2015 M235i are still commanding MSRP and minus $500 in my area. I could only imagine what the M2 will go for!

Just because you think you are correct does not make it so.

I am on three dealers lists with not a red cents down.

I do not fuck around.

I have not put a deposit down, But I have spoken to my salesperson and they know I am interested. As soon as it is possible to order I know I will get the call.

Same here, my CA hasn't even mentioned a deposit. I'm assuming there won't be too much room to negotiate. If it's above MSRP, no fucking way. I can wait a year or two. The M235i is an incredible car! It's not like I'm slumming it!

If you're putting a deposit down, I hope its with a dealer you know and have used before. If not, prepare to bend over as you are just a rando to them.
