How do I enable the auto locking for the doors?

Hi there.

My mom got herself a new 2008 X3 3.0si.. loaded with all the bells and whistles.

She had an 04 X3 and in that one when she started driving the doors automatically locked.

I know how to do it in my E90... but for the life of me cannot figure out how to do it in her X3... and I can't seem to find it in the manual.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I believe it has to be programmed by the dealer and she should have been asked about her personal preferences for settings before she took delivery.

Oh thanks...

I'm surprised you can't set that stuff yourself like in my E90...

That's because the current X3 has the older electronic technology. It's a good bet that it will eventually be upgraded.

It's a simple dealer job (computer) and shouldn't take more than 15 min.

If I get this done at the BMW dealer do you think they would charge me?
