alloy wheel question

Wondering if anyone can advise.

I have a 335d F30 with the M sport brakes. Summer wheels are 403M and bought winter wheels 400M which are 18 inch and the smallest that will fit over the M Sport brakes.

Will the 18 inch 400M wheels fit on the new M3 / M4 or are the brakes just a bit too big?

The M3/4 18s are fine so 18 inch wheels themselves are ok with non CCB brakes. However I think you'd need to check wheel offset, different fir the M3/4 I think?

I was curious as it seemed from configurator that 19 inch was smallest wheel you could get on M3, but realoem suggest they come with 18 inch wheels in some markets.

the 400M wheels have these measurements

18x8.0: 34 (Fronts)
18x9.5: 47 (rears)

The standard 19 inch 437M alloys on the M3 are

9JX19 ET:29 (Fronts)
10JX19 ET:40 (Rears)

I've run the fronts through willtheyfit.com and get these results
http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...et2=34#content

and the rears
http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...et2=47#content

Which to me makes it look like they should fit, if they clear the brakes. Just wondering if I can recycle my current 400M winters onto an M3 in a year or two.

Anyone running a winter set up on the M3/4?

I would suggest that you speak with your dealer, he may even have an M3/4 that you can check it against.

Those wheels should fit.

They were putting those wheels on during the winter for those doing ED trips. I'd take a look at some of those European Delivery threads.

Here's your thread so you can see it.

EDIT: I dunno if those are the same wheels, but it should help you out.

Also, the stock M3 18''s are 513M for reference.

Thanks, that's helpful. Looks like the slightly higher offset on my 400M are compensated for by the the fact they are smaller width alloys, so they should not foul on the hub / suspension but won't protrude as much in the wheel arches which I wouldn't be bothered about for a winter set-up
