E90...end of warranty worries

Hiya guys,

My 2012 318d LCI M Sport had it's end of warranty check last week with a clean bill of health, and now that the warranty is on it's way out, the widely stated problem with the N47 timing chain issues is starting to worry me.

I was wondering if there are any preventative measures I can take in order to improve my chances of my E90 running fine without any future timing chain (or in fact any) issues. I am looking at purchasing the warranty, but thought I'd post up incase anyone else has been in my boat.

Not exactly in your boat, but I did waste ~$3000 on extending the warranty to 5/100K. I got a new set of front brakes and an oil change out of the deal.

Find an indy you trust, put the $3k in a CD, and pay as you go.
